Amidst the hustle and bustle of medical work - a profession that always requires dedication and high precision - artist Hoang Thi Thu Ha still reserves for herself a private, quiet and enduring world : the world of sketches, of simple but profound pen strokes.
The 57 works on display this time are mostly sketches, but they are not simply drawings. The works carry a story, a spirit of exploration and experimentation: from the liveliness of everyday life to abstract expression, from small, delicate sizes to large-scale works rich in visual energy.
It is no coincidence that "profound sketching" has become the main choice of expression in this exhibition. For artist Hoang Thi Thu Ha, sketching is a way to go deep into the senses, where vision, emotion and thought blend together, creating a unique depth for each stroke.

"Deep sketching" is often done with a pen, which seems simple, fragile, and even somewhat "weak" compared to paintbrushes or colors. However, it is this monochrome, delicate nature that forces the artist to refine each stroke, each hand movement, and each choice of viewpoint.
An "interpretive sketch" is not just a drawing of what we see, but also a depiction of what we "feel". Therefore, each work, in addition to reproducing images, more importantly, also reveals the character's psychology, space, rhythm, and even very unique silences.

Coming to the exhibition "My Paintings", viewers will realize that sketches do not stop at the function of sketching or preparatory work for a larger painting, but they are the complete work.
Some paintings have complex compositions, inspiring abstraction, while others are expanded on large paper, requiring the artist to both master the space and maintain the delicate, patient spirit of the pen. This shows that the artist has overcome the prejudice that "sketching is secondary", to turn this genre into the main expressive language, full of personality and depth.
For Hoang Thi Thu Ha, "profound sketching" is a choice of identity, creating a space for her to freely and cautiously express her own rhythm of life: profound, observant, and inner strength.

Sharing about her solo exhibition, artist Hoang Thi Thu Ha expressed: " I never thought that one day I would be able to organize a painting exhibition, and at a prestigious art school like the Vietnam University of Fine Arts. I did not go to school, everything started from pure love and the belief that: if you are truly serious, passion will lead the way."
The artist shared that she is a doctor and has very little time for herself. But when she holds a brush or pen, she feels like she can return to her inner self in a quiet, clear and lively way. She wants to show everyone that even simple sketches can still touch the heart and tell profound stories.

"I'm still learning and I know I need to learn more systematically. Because the time has come for me to not only paint for myself, but also paint responsibly for art, for art lovers and for the journey I have chosen. It's never too late if you are really serious about your dream," she said.
Perhaps, what moves viewers the most is the journey she is telling: a woman without formal training in fine arts, but still persistently learning and practicing with all her passion and serious self-study spirit.
That "amateur" status did not make her falter, on the contrary, it was like an affirmation: art does not close its doors to anyone, if you truly come to art with a sincere heart and unwavering faith.

No noise, no frills, quietly entering the world with delicate, tiny needle strokes like threads that weave a rich inner world. Each of her "profound sketches" opens up a journey of discovery and empathy, where the real and spiritual worlds blend, where light and darkness interact in a restraint that is almost meditative.
In her, viewers feel the beauty of a soul that knows how to listen, how to filter, how to hide to honor the most fragile beauty of life, whether it is just a tree branch, a window, an ancient roof leaning in the shadow, a figure walking away... or simply the vibration of time passing quietly. The soul of that artist, like "profound sketching", is humble but profound, simple but proud.

Hoang Thi Thu Ha shared that she will continue to pursue a well-trained journey in the future. It is not only an investment in skills, but also a choice in life: living with passion responsibly and respectfully. The exhibition is not too noisy, but it evokes many quiet emotions, just like her pen strokes: gentle but sharp, simple but containing many layers of emotions.
"My Paintings" is a simple story of art, and also an encouragement for all those who are still hesitant before the dream of creation: it is never too late, if you are really serious. And no matter who you are, a doctor, an engineer, a teacher or a housewife... if you have a passionate love, let your passion speak. The exhibition "My Paintings" lasts until July 7.
