Pickleball player Trinh Linh Giang is seeded No. 3 at the Hong Kong Open despite being the singles champion and No. 1 on the PPA Asia rankings.

PPA Tour Asia has announced the seeding order for the Main Draw round (final round) in 5 events. Notably, tennis player Trinh Linh Giang is ranked 3rd out of 4 seeds in the singles event.

Wong Hong-kit, also known as Jack Wong in Vietnam, is the No. 1 seed. Wong lost to Trinh Linh Giang in the men's singles semi-finals at the Malaysia Open with a score of 1-2.

Jack Wong has 800 points on the PPA Asia rankings, 200 points behind Linh Giang, but is ranked number 1 seed, even though Giang is the leader. Perhaps the organizers give priority to the home player?

The third seed is Japanese player Kenta Miyoshi. Lucas Pascoe from Australia is the fourth seed. Jack Foster from the US will be the "Wild Card" - challenger in the PPA Asia singles.

Apart from Trinh Linh Giang, no other Vietnamese players are seeded. However, most of the familiar faces of the Vietnamese pickleball community are in the Main Draw round.

Linh Giang continues to register for the doubles event with Ly Hoang Nam as in the Malaysia Open.

The PPA Asia Tour - Hong Kong Open 2025 will take place from August 21 to 24 at Kai Tak Arena. The total prize money is $50,000 and each event champion will receive 1,000 points.

The singles champion will receive $1,800 and 1,000 points. A player who advances to the round of 16 will receive $150 for singles and $300 for doubles and 100 points.
