Accordingly, the delegation won 15 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 6 bronze medals. The second return to this playground not only affirmed the position of Vietnam People's Public Security sports, but also marked a great step forward in terms of expertise and competitive spirit.
This year’s Games took place from June 23 to July 7 in Birmingham, Alabama (USA), bringing together thousands of athletes from more than 70 countries. With thorough preparation and a clear strategy, the Vietnamese Public Security delegation competed in many events, from high-performance sports to fire prevention and fighting (PCCC) and rescue (CHCN) events, bringing a determined and professional appearance.
Many athletes left a deep impression. Major Hoang Linh Chi was the highlight of the delegation with 4 gold medals in swimming events. Shooter Trinh Thu Vinh - who had won a place in the Olympics - continued to affirm her top form with 2 gold medals, including 1 individual and 1 team medal in shooting. On the track, Lieutenant Ngan Ngoc Nghia won a double gold medal in the 100m and 200m athletics. Karate also contributed to the gold medal list with 3 gold medals and 1 bronze medal.
Not only outstanding in traditional sports, the Vietnamese Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue team made a breakthrough when it won fourth place for the first time, along with 2 silver medals - a remarkable achievement in a group of events requiring specialized professional skills and modern equipment.
