Chat with the student who won third prize in the national Literature competition

With 11 years of excellent student achievements, Nguyen Phuong Linh, grade 12 majoring in literature, Son La High School for the Gifted, is a typical example in studying. In the 2022-2023 school year, she won third prize in literature in the national excellent student competition and was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Provincial Youth Union and a Certificate of Merit by the Provincial Education Promotion Association.

Since childhood, Phuong Linh has had a spirit of self-study and a love for literature. She spent a lot of time reading poetry, short stories, and studying good, in-depth analysis lectures for essays and poems. In 2 consecutive years of 8th and 9th grade, she participated in the literature competition for excellent students and won second prize at the provincial level of secondary school.

At the beginning of the 10th grade, Linh was selected to join the school's excellent literature team, and in that same year she won the provincial prize in literature. In the 11th grade, Linh continued to win the first prize in literature at the provincial level; won the Gold Medal in the excellent student exchange competition in the coastal and Northern Delta regions; and the Gold Medal at Hung Vuong Summer Camp in the 2022-2023 school year. Through the competitions, Phuong Linh has the opportunity to cultivate and acquire a lot of new and advanced knowledge, especially learning from the experiences of her friends as well as drawing many valuable lessons for herself.

When asked about the secret to studying, Linh shared that she had to have a firm grasp of basic knowledge, be fluent in theory and skills in analyzing literature and poetry; build a daily study habit according to the plan and most importantly, be proactive in studying to absorb knowledge in class and during practice hours with the team. Every day, she spent 1-2 hours reading reference materials to learn how to analyze arguments, express problems, and discover good ideas; regularly write down good sentences and paragraphs to review. This school year, she focused on reviewing to be able to win a higher prize in the national excellent student competition in early 2024, then complete the high school graduation exam and strive to pass the Diplomatic Academy.

Teacher Phung Thi Bich Hanh, who directly trains the school's team, said: Phuong Linh is diligent, hard-working, and good at all subjects, especially literature. She has a very good self-study ability; she has a flexible and creative approach, grasping and applying knowledge, thereby conveying many emotions in her writing. The school is trying to provide her with more knowledge so that she can achieve higher awards.

With passion and will to conquer the peak of knowledge, I believe that Nguyen Phuong Linh will realize her dream, study well to return to contribute to building her homeland.
