Ho Chi Minh City Singer Trong Hieu tells the story of his deceased father at a live show celebrating eight years of singing.

During the show on the evening of July 15, the singer took a moment to pay tribute to his father - Mr. Nguyen Chi Trung, who passed away in 2021, the person who accompanied and followed Trong Hieu closely in the early stages of his career.

The singer said: "To me, my father will always be in my heart. I believe he will always follow and support the artistic path I am taking."

Then, Trong Hieu sang his first self-composed song - Anh van thay - dedicated to his father. When singing the line "So that I can still see the memories of the two of us. It is the flower in my heart", Trong Hieu choked up. Below, fans cheered him on, saying "Hieu, don't cry" or "I love you".

Having experienced many fatigues and weaknesses in the face of life's events, the singer said he overcame them thanks to the love of his family. Attending the live show were his 96-year-old grandmother and many relatives. The moment the grandmother stood from afar, waved and smiled when Trong Hieu called out "Grandma, I love you so much", moved fans.

He chose the age of 31 to hold his first live show. For more than two hours, Trong Hieu sang more than 20 songs in a vibrant style such as Em la ba noi cua anh, Say ah, Sao phai khu kali, Dap pha tim anh cho roi, Dare To Be Different , while showing off his strength in choreography.

The singer dominated the stage, leading the story without an MC. Trong Hieu made the audience laugh many times through situations such as mispronouncing Vietnamese, mentioning being urged by relatives to get married or reacting when fans called him "husband".

He spent some time recalling memories at Vietnam Idol 2015 - the launching pad that brought Trong Hieu closer to the public. The singer sang Happy - the first song in the stage round - which was well received by the public, saying he cherished the opportunities so as not to disappoint the audience.

Nearly 500 audiences, including many from other provinces and abroad, came to Ho Chi Minh City to listen to Trong Hieu sing. The singer said: "Everyone has painted beautiful colors in my life. You are the reason why Trong Hieu stays in Vietnam and continues to pursue his passion."

The highlight of the program was the appearance of singer Thu Minh and beauty queen H'Hen Nie . Singer Duong Cong commented that Trong Hieu has become more and more emotional and has developed his own style. They sang a duet called Bay (Nguyen Hai Phong) which made the audience stand up and dance.

H'Hen Nie shared a memory of doing Trong Hieu's makeup backstage at a show when she was still a model. The beauty queen said: "To me, Trong Hieu has positive energy, never gives up, and inspires many people around him."

Trong Hieu was born in 1992 and grew up in Germany. In 2015, he returned to Vietnam to participate in the Vietnam Idol contest and won the championship . This was a stepping stone for the singer to become active and leave his mark with a series of songs such as Con duong toi, I'm Sorry Babe (Khac Hung), Anh do roi day, Ve the gioi , which he composed. In March, he participated in the Eurovision Song Contest and finished third .
