Referee Francois Letexier has been recognized as a FIFA referee since 2017. And he is ranked as an elite referee by UEFA. Mr. Francois Letexier was fiercely attacked by Indonesian fans on social media when he officiated the play-off match for a place in the 2024 Paris Olympics between Indonesia and Guinea. In that match, referee Francois Letexier awarded Guinea 2 penalties and sent off Indonesian coach Shin Tae Yong for strongly protesting his decisions.
