Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of the Ho Chi Minh Museum, Mr. Vu Manh Ha said that August 19, 1945 has gone down in the history of Vietnam not only as a brilliant milestone but also marked the birth of the People's Public Security force. Our Public Security is the People's Public Security, serving the people and relying on the people to work.
Over the past 80 years, educated and trained by President Ho Chi Minh, under the leadership of the Party, with the trust and support of the people, the Vietnam People's Public Security has become the core armed force in the cause of protecting national security, ensuring social order and safety, and fighting against crimes and law violations.

Through the thematic exhibition, the Organizing Committee hopes to bring to the public an overview of the heroic history of the Vietnam People's Public Security Force, while contributing to spreading national pride, educating patriotic traditions, and raising the sense of responsibility of all social classes in the cause of protecting national security and social order.
With more than 200 documents, images and artifacts, the thematic exhibition "People's Public Security - 80 years of remembering Uncle Ho's words" introduces to the public the affection, care, attention and training of President Ho Chi Minh for the Vietnam People's Public Security, along with the glorious achievements of the People's Public Security in the cause of protecting national security and maintaining social order and safety.

The exhibition also affirms the core role of the People's Public Security in protecting national security and maintaining social order and safety, while spreading the spirit of "all people protecting national security" in the community, especially among the young generation.
The thematic exhibition consists of two parts. Part 1, with the theme “You are the light that guides the way”, includes documents and artifacts that help viewers look back at the history of the formation of the Vietnam People’s Public Security force. After the establishment of the Communist Party of Vietnam , the predecessor organizations of the People’s Public Security were established one after another to protect the organization, protect the revolution and the ideal of national independence.

The August Revolution of 1945 succeeded, and the first people's public security organizations in the three regions were born, with the mission of suppressing counter-revolutionaries, ensuring security and order, protecting the Party, the revolutionary government and the people. On February 21, 1946, President Ho Chi Minh issued a decree to unify the People's Public Security forces throughout the country into the Vietnam Public Security Service.
Part 2 with the theme "Worthy of the title of 'Sharp Sword', 'Sturdy Steel Shield'" is images and artifacts about 80 years of building, fighting and growing up of generations of cadres and soldiers of the People's Public Security force according to Uncle Ho's Six Teachings; building a glorious heroic tradition, worthy of being the sharp "Sword" and the sturdy "Steel Shield" protecting the Party, State, people and socialist regime.

The noble qualities of revolutionary police officers are continuously honed in their daily work, regardless of wartime or peacetime. That is the source of strength that helps the Vietnam People's Police achieve many feats and outstanding achievements, making especially important contributions to the cause of national liberation and reunification in the past as well as to the construction and protection of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam today.
The thematic exhibition "People's Public Security - 80 years of remembering Uncle Ho's words" contributes to educating the tradition of patriotism, national pride, raising the sense of responsibility, promoting the mass movement of all social classes, especially the young generation, in the cause of protecting national security.
