Saga Dawa, held annually in the fourth lunar month, commemorates and honors three significant events in the life of Siddhartha Gautama Buddha: his birth, enlightenment, and passing into Nirvana.

Throughout the festival, Buddhists perform many traditional rituals such as circling Buddha statues, making pilgrimages to sacred sites, observing a vegetarian diet, and giving alms.
Along the pilgrimage routes in Lhasa, numerous Buddhists from various regions, carrying prayer beads, patiently and calmly walk amidst a solemn atmosphere.

Pilgrims from Zoga shared: “The pilgrimage routes are now very safe. Along the way, many staff members are thoughtful enough to help elderly people cross the road.”
Saga Dawa is one of the most important religious festivals in Tibet, lasting throughout the fourth lunar month and attracting a large number of Buddhist followers every year.
