According to the World Health Organization (WHO), since the beginning of the year, the Chikungunya epidemic has been on the rise in many countries, including southern China , the area bordering Cao Bang province. Although Vietnam has not recorded any cases, there is still a risk of the epidemic entering the country due to frequent and crowded border trade and immigration activities. Therefore, it is extremely necessary to proactively implement measures to prevent and control the epidemic at the front line of the border.
The working group inspected and supervised the following contents: Development and implementation of plans and measures for disease prevention; preparation of materials, chemicals, and equipment for disease prevention; arrangement of communication materials and disease prevention recommendations for passengers at the border gate area; monitoring disease vectors; eradication of mosquito larvae at risk points...

Officials from the Center for Disease Control conduct surveillance of disease-transmitting mosquito larvae at households living near the Tra Linh International Border Gate area, Tra Linh commune.
From the beginning of August 2025 to now, the border gates in the province have received 21,629 arrivals and 21,642 departures. Medical quarantine work was carried out on 145 incoming vehicles, 193 outgoing vehicles along with 1,013 tons of imported goods and 3,876 tons of exported goods . The Health Quarantine Department has prepared plans for disease prevention and control; quarantine stations have sprayed insecticides at border gates; posted warning signs in Vietnamese, English and Chinese at border gate areas to raise awareness for people traveling between the two countries; fully prepared supplies, chemicals and equipment for disease prevention and response to be ready to respond when situations arise. In addition, the delegation also directly monitored disease vectors, caught mosquitoes and larvae in households living near the border gate area to assess the risk of spreading in the community.

The working group inspected the quarantine room at Ta Lung International Border Gate, Phuc Hoa commune.
Comrade Nong Tri Truyen - Deputy Director of the Center for Disease Control directed that departments and specialized offices need to strengthen internal coordination as well as closely coordinate with functional forces at border gates to improve the effectiveness of disease prevention and control in general and Chikungunya disease in particular, and promptly overcome existing difficulties and limitations. He also noted that medical quarantine stations continue to tighten the monitoring of people, vehicles and goods entering Vietnam, promptly detect and handle suspected cases of the disease, and prevent the disease from entering and spreading in the community. In addition, it is necessary to focus on promoting communication work at border gates and border residential areas so that people can grasp disease prevention recommendations and proactively coordinate in implementing disease prevention measures.
In the coming time, the Center for Disease Control will continue to closely coordinate with functional forces at border gates and local authorities to control the risk of Chikungunya disease, preventing the disease from entering and spreading into the province.
