The Mid-Autumn Festival is approaching in every corner of Ha Tinh province, filled with the excitement and anticipation of children. The full moon shines even brighter and more brightly, carrying with it the overflowing love and sharing of the community to underprivileged children.
The lion dance performance in the "Loving Moon" program at Phu Lam village (Phu Gia, Huong Khe) was organized by Ha Tinh Newspaper and Bui Cafe in coordination with the Huong Khe District Youth Union and the Provincial Police Investigation Office on the evening of August 17th.

Located in the Vietnam-Laos border area, Phu Lam village (Phu Gia commune, Huong Khe district) is more than 12 km from the commune center. For the children in the village, the Mid-Autumn Festival has been simply a small party with a few cakes, candies, and local treats for years. Dreams of a grand feast on the full moon night, or games and cultural performances, remain distant for them.
However, this year, the children here were able to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival in a vibrant, colorful, joyful, and meaningful way.
Children in Phu Lam village eagerly participated in the "Loving Moon" program.
Phan Thi Sao Mai (Grade 2, Phu Gia Primary School) excitedly said: “Before, I only saw the vibrant Mid-Autumn Festival program on TV. Today, I am very happy to see the Moon Goddess and the Moon Man perform, watch the lion dance, and enjoy the feast. We also received scholarships and meaningful gifts.”
The program that Sao Mai and her friends from her village participated in was "Loving Moonlight," organized by Bui Cafe and Ha Tinh Newspaper in collaboration with the Huong Khe District Youth Union and the Criminal Investigation Office of the Provincial Police on the evening of August 17th.
The following organizations: Ha Tinh Newspaper, Bui Cafe, the Provincial Police Investigation Office, and partner organizations and benefactors donated 160 gifts to 160 children in Phu Lam village.
Mr. Tran Xuan Vu, owner of Bui Cafe (Ha Tinh City), representing the organizing and sponsoring units, said: “Mid-Autumn Festival is a time for family reunion, a celebration for parents and relatives to show care for their children. However, for many children in remote areas, life is still difficult and lacking, and they often suffer disadvantages. Therefore, we want to bring a warm and meaningful atmosphere to poor children in Phu Lam village, helping them have beautiful memories of their childhood and the Mid-Autumn Festival...”
With careful preparation, the "Loving Moon" program brought many special cultural performances to poor children in Phu Lam village, featuring artists such as Thai Hoc and Khanh Ha, along with a magician and lion dance troupe. In addition, the program also awarded 470 gifts and scholarships to underprivileged students and local residents.
Sparkling sharing from the community
Although the full moon of the eighth lunar month hasn't arrived yet, the resounding sound of frog drums welcoming the Mid-Autumn Festival echoes throughout the countryside of Ha Tinh province. This is as local authorities, organizations, and charitable groups prepare for the Mid-Autumn Festival for children.
Ha Tinh Urban Environment and Construction Joint Stock Company organized a Mid-Autumn Festival celebration program called "Moonlight Festival Night".
Since the beginning of September 2023, the Provincial People's Committee has issued Plan No. 381/KH-UBND dated September 9, 2023, on organizing Mid-Autumn Festival activities. Accordingly, the plan aims to raise awareness, responsibility, and participation of families, schools, the community, and the entire society in fulfilling the rights and responsibilities of children as stipulated in the Law on Children and regulations on the protection, care, and education of children.
This creates opportunities and conditions for all children to participate in joyful, healthy, beneficial, and equal Mid-Autumn Festival activities, contributing to guiding and educating children to preserve national cultural identity. At the same time, it mobilizes resources in society to support, help, give gifts, and encourage children from poor and near-poor households, children with special and difficult circumstances, children of ethnic minorities, and children in remote areas...
Units and localities are making efforts to organize Mid-Autumn Festival activities for children that are joyful, warm, healthy, and meaningful.
As the designated location for the province's Mid-Autumn Festival celebration, Ky Anh district has coordinated with the Provincial Youth Union and the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to complete preparations for the event.
Mr. Vo Ta Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Ky Anh District People's Committee, said: “With the desire to bring a joyful and warm Mid-Autumn Festival to children, especially poor children, we have directed the development of a program script with the theme "Lanterns Lighting Up Dreams" with many attractive and fun performances. On this occasion, the local authorities and organizations in the district are also actively mobilizing collectives and individuals to support and provide many gifts for disadvantaged children in the area. At the program scheduled to take place on the evening of September 26th (the 12th day of the 8th lunar month), we will award dozens of scholarships to the children.”
A lively atmosphere prevailed at the "Thanh Sen Mid-Autumn Lantern Procession" festival organized by Ha Tinh City on the evening of September 23rd.
This year's Mid-Autumn Festival also brought much joy and sharing to the 110 children being cared for at the Ha Tinh Orphanage, thanks to the attention of the community.
It is known that several organizations and groups, such as the Youth Union of the Agricultural and Rural Development Bank of Vietnam, Ha Tinh Branch, the Vinfast Global Community group in Nghe An - Ha Tinh in coordination with the Women's Police of the province, and the Loc Ha Volunteer Group, have registered to organize Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations here. Besides giving valuable gifts, the children will also enjoy many cheerful performances such as lion dances, lantern processions, and performances portraying the Moon Goddess and the Moon Man... aiming to create a loving and warm Mid-Autumn Festival atmosphere.
The Youth Union of Agribank Ha Tinh Provincial Branch and Agribank Ha Tinh II Branch, along with benefactors, organized a Mid-Autumn Festival celebration at the Ha Tinh Orphanage on the evening of September 23rd.
Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Toan, Head of the Care and Nurturing Department at the Ha Tinh Orphanage, said: “According to the registration schedule, in addition to organizing the Mid-Autumn Festival and giving gifts to the children, many groups also donated essential gifts to the unit such as washing machines, televisions, rice, milk... The community's concern is a great source of encouragement for the children as well as those working in management and care at the Ha Tinh Orphanage.”
August arrives, bringing with it the excitement of children eagerly awaiting the Mid-Autumn Festival. The care and sharing of Party committees, authorities, and the community through practical and concrete actions have helped fill the voids and warm the hearts of underprivileged children, bringing them a Mid-Autumn Festival filled with love.
