Formed and developed on May 18, 1988, in the early days of the country's renovation, UTH is considered one of the pioneeringeducational institutions directly serving the development of traffic and transportation infrastructure in the Southern region.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Phuong, Principal of the school, shared that the greatest pride in the past 37 years is not only the increasingly expanding training scale or the significantly increased number of students and lecturers, but also the formation of a team of dedicated, professionally solid, and idealistic teachers. " Many teachers have been with the school since the early days, contributing valuable scientific research works, receiving noble titles from the State. That tradition has become the foundation for us to constantly strive today ," he said.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Xuan Phuong, from a branch, UTH is now a leading training institution in the field of engineering and transportation. UTH is constantly innovating, strongly restructuring, and applying technology to improve the quality of education. UTH is a pioneer in key areas such as infrastructure engineering, logistics, maritime, especially aviation and high-speed railways - fields of study closely linked to the country's aspirations to take off in the new era.

Not stopping at theoretical training, UTH aims at practical training - following the "business semester" model, closely linked with domestic and foreign corporations and businesses... Students get to experience real work, access new technology, thereby increasing their adaptability after graduation.

"With the motto of learning to know - learning to do, we want to train engineers and bachelors who are not only good at theory but also ready to start working in a real environment. That is the spirit of 'practical combat' in education that UTH pursues", Mr. Phuong emphasized.

Vietnamese intelligence grows with national infrastructure

In its development strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2045, UTH clearly identifies its role as a companion in the development of national transport infrastructure. That also means that the University proactively innovates comprehensively - from training methods, investment in science and technology, to attracting and employing talents.

As one of the first universities to achieve quality accreditation at the educational institution level in Vietnam, the University implements human resource training programs according to the national transport development strategy; promotes international cooperation with leading partners such as China Railway Group 2 (CREGC), Education & Technology Group (HollySys), Beijing Jiaotong University, Nanjing Railway Institute of Technology, CRRC Intelligent Transport Operation System Management Company, Canadian Aviation Institute, etc. to create modern, multidisciplinary, multidimensional academic spaces with strong UTH identity.

The school also focuses on a fair tuition policy, creating conditions for students in remote areas to access higher education, building a dynamic and creative learning environment, encouraging entrepreneurship and innovation among students.
