Knowing that studying at Vinh Yen Secondary School is not easy because there are many good teachers, good students, and a lot of pressure, parents still want their children to study at this school because there children can develop all their abilities.
Solidarity, seriousness and responsibility
This year, the entrance exam for grade 6 at Vinh Yen Secondary School had 1,119 candidates to select 450 students, as "tense" as the university entrance exam. The school's students attend two sessions a day. Feeling uneasy, some families still let their children attend extra classes outside the school in the evening.
With such a passion for learning, the school's students have won countless awards in competitions. In the 2022-2023 school year, the school led the province in the number of students passing the entrance exam to Vinh Phuc High School for the Gifted with 200 students, including 8/11 valedictorians and 5/11 salutatorians.
The quality of mass education also rose to the top of the province in the past school year, in the context of the school lacking many teachers. All stemmed from solidarity, seriousness and responsibility. The teaching staff loves their job, working with all their passion and responsibility.
As a high-quality school of the city and province, the school focuses on choosing active teaching methods, forms and techniques; properly assessing the quality of teachers and students as a driving force for quality improvement.
Principal Trieu Thi Thanh Ha mentioned some solutions that the school is applying such as: organizing weekly meetings, monthly meetings in a serious, democratic, frank and constructive manner; ensuring a balance between imparting knowledge, training skills and orienting students' attitudes and behaviors; increasing practical connections, actively applying information technology appropriate to lesson content.
Many innovative activities are in a practical direction such as professional group activities, implementing scientific topics, and increasing class observation. The teaching staff focuses on guiding students to practice self-study skills, self-study textbooks and reference materials, and fostering the ability to think independently.
All forms of testing and assessment are aimed at developing students' abilities; encouraging their efforts and interest in learning. The tests reasonably combine essay and objective tests, theoretical and practical tests; and increase the number of open-ended questions for social science subjects.

Reduce stress, increase leisure activities
High achievement of course has great pressure and that will hardly bring happiness to the staff, teachers and students of the school. Therefore, along with maintaining the necessary pressure for everyone to try, Principal Trieu Thi Thanh Ha pursues a strategy of psychological balance, balancing between studying and playing for students.
The school area is up to 4.6 hectares with many functional areas, convenient for organizing collective activities. The school organizes for students to participate in folk dancing, ensemble performances, "Ring the Golden Bell" competitions, organizes sports and art clubs that attract many students to participate.
The school also invites psychologists to “de-stress” students through talks on Gen Z, school mental health, school violence prevention, and many other activities. Professional and life skills seminars also bring a comfortable atmosphere for teachers and students.
Thanks to inspiring creativity and talent of students, the school participates in competitions and wins many prizes.

Teachers assign homework that is appropriate for students, reduce many mid-term tests, reduce some competitions such as the exchange of excellent students in grades 6, 7 and 8; eliminate the cultural subject championship competition for grade 8. Some talent competitions do not require all students to participate.
With 1,548 students this school year, the role of the homeroom teacher is very important. Teacher Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh, homeroom teacher of class 8A1, said: I have to calculate every minute of the class meeting to make it most meaningful, have a theme, and organize activities such as drawing lots to learn about historical figures.
The sophistication and professionalism in organizing teaching activities have made Vinh Yen Secondary School a center for professional and technical exchange among secondary schools in Vinh Yen city, Vinh Phuc province and a place for exchanging and learning experiences from many other provinces.
