The social campaign “Happiness is called” initiated by Social Impact and WeChoice Awards, brings 7 core communication messages built on the foundation of children's basic rights, including: For every child, no violence, abuse or exploitation; For every child, a livable planet; For every child, equal opportunities; For every child, a comprehensive and quality education ; For every child, a healthy life; For every child, mental health; For every child, a network of companions.

These messages were developed in collaboration with the United Nations Children's Fund in Vietnam.

Through art, media, education and community activities, the campaign hopes that messages will not only be heard, but also inspire action and create real change.

The project “Art Academy – Happiness is called” was born from the spirit of message number 3: “For all children, equal opportunities”, aiming to build an inspiring art environment, where every child, whether living in the city, rural areas, mountainous areas, in hospitals, industrial zones or any other circumstances, has the opportunity to access art.

At the announcement ceremony, the interactive play “Tangled” within the framework of the project “Academy of Arts – Happiness is Called” was introduced.

The play depicts the journey of growing up of a brave girl, overcoming imprisonment, sacrificing her magical hair to share and help those around her. The play is an emotional metaphor about the inner strength of children, about the desire to be loved and return to a safe place called: family.

Not only is the play a fairy tale recreated through music , it also brings a community stage where children and adults sing together, take on roles, and express the unspeakable through artistic language.

Taking on the role of General Director of “Tangled”, Meritorious Artist Cao Ngoc Anh said: After major musical projects such as “Waves” and “Fire from the Earth” , she wants to return to a theme for children.

From 2018 to 2019, she made her mark with the success of 300 performances of “Mermaid Dream”. In 2022, the musical “The Five-Colored Stone” she directed, inspired by the kind heart of journalist Mai Anh and “tin soldier” Thien Nhan, continued to attract audiences. And on the occasion of this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival, she hopes to give children a new spiritual gift.

Meritorious Artist Cao Ngoc Anh confided that when she learned about the activities of the "Dream Hair Station" under the "For Children with Cancer" network, where there are people who have grown their hair for 7 years, and even an old lady is willing to cut her hair to donate to children with cancer, she came up with the idea of "Rapunzel", borrowing inspiration from this fairy tale to Vietnamize and recreate it into a work with her own mark.

Together with screenwriter Kim Thuy and a young team including stage director Nhat Quang, music director Duong Minh Anh, physical choreographer Hieu Nguyen, art designer Minh Tuan..., Meritorious Artist Cao Ngoc Anh decided to choose the interactive theater format - a lively, humorous theater genre, combining trending music, modern choreography, eye-catching costumes and direct audience participation to express the story.

The creative and performance team of "Tangled" interacted with the audience.

In particular, the very natural acting of the talented cast who were trained from previous musical projects such as Minh Anh, Quoc Viet, Hieu Nguyen... brought a youthful, vibrant and attractive color to the play. The first appearance of actress Thu Quynh (Vietnam Youth Theatre) in a musical is also a highlight that makes the play fresh and different.

As the music director, vocal coach and lead actress of “Tangled”, Duong Minh Anh said this was a very interesting artistic experience for her. The musical part of the play was built on the foundation of songs familiar to young audiences, but was re-arranged to create a new color.

“The advantage of taking on the role of music director is that I have the opportunity to think more deeply into the world of each character, not just the character I play. My team and I have the right to build and develop the desired artistic space, where music is connected to the story and the character's emotions. However, the dense workload and pressure are also no small challenge, requiring great effort to balance all roles on the same stage” – Minh Anh shared.

Also at the event, the Organizing Committee launched the song “Chill about childhood” by musician Nguyen Quang Hung, set to music from a poem by author Khanh Duong. The song is a journey back to childhood memories, where we encounter simple yet familiar images: colored paper candy, wet rainy roads, small scratches... The song conveys the humanistic aspiration for a world where children live in love, are sown with magical seeds and grow up in homes filled with warmth.

The song “Chill about childhood” is also the theme song of the Run and Gala Night of the same name taking place on September 20, 2025, bringing together the community to raise funds and spread the message of happiness for children.

According to information from the Organizing Committee, the "Chill for Childhood" Community Run taking place on the morning of September 20 at Trinh Cong Son Walking Street, Hanoi is expected to gather thousands of participants to join hands in fundraising and spreading the message of happiness, accompanying more than 80,000 children in special circumstances across the country.

The Gala “Chill about Childhood” starts at 8pm at Garden Music, Hanoi Opera House, bringing a soulful music night where beloved artists sing together for children.

Both events are highlights of the community campaign “Happiness is called” with the aim of spreading the message about children's right to be loved, protected, and grow up happily.
