High tide in the South: Water level at Vung Tau station can reach 4.3m

The South is experiencing a high tide period in which the peak tide can reach 4.3m at Vung Tau station - a very high level in 2025.

The South has experienced the highest high tide since the beginning of the year.

On the afternoon of November 4, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting informed that sea levels measured at marine stations along the southern coast are continuing to rise, of which Vung Tau station recorded a peak water level of 4.08m at 0:00 the same day and is showing an increasing trend.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting warns that from the evening of November 4 to November 5, coastal areas from Ho Chi Minh City to Ca Mau will experience strong high tides, with the highest water level at Vung Tau station reaching 4.1m to 4.15m. The peak tides will occur from 11pm to 1am and from 11am to 3pm daily.

From November 5 to 6, the water level along the eastern coast of the South will continue to rise slowly, the peak tide may reach 4.15-4.25m. Especially from November 7 to 11, the high tide in the South will reach a very high level, the peak at Vung Tau station may reach 4.2-4.3m (higher than the high tide at the end of October when the tide level only peaked at about 4.16-4.18m).

According to Mr. Bui Manh Ha, Head of the Oceanographic Forecasting Department (National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting), this is the highest high tide period since the beginning of the year. The eastern coastal areas of the South, especially low-lying areas and outside the dykes, need to be on guard against the risk of flooding, dyke overflow, affecting traffic, agricultural production, aquaculture and people's lives.
