(PLVN) - If they meet all entry requirements according to Vietnamese law, when traveling , citizens of the three countries of Poland, the Czech Republic and the Swiss Confederation will be exempt from entry visas when traveling to Vietnam.

The Government has just issued Resolution No. 11/NQ-CP dated January 15, 2025 on visa exemption under the Tourism Development Stimulus Program in 2025 for citizens of the following countries: Republic of Poland, Czech Republic and Swiss Confederation.

According to the Resolution, visa exemption is granted to citizens of the following countries: Republic of Poland, Czech Republic, and Swiss Confederation with a temporary stay of 45 days from the date of entry for tourism purposes under programs organized by Vietnamese international travel service businesses, regardless of passport type, on the basis of meeting all entry conditions as prescribed by Vietnamese law.

The visa exemption policy when entering Vietnam for citizens of the above countries will be implemented from March 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025 under the framework of the Tourism Development Stimulus Program in 2025.

Previously, according to Resolution 128/NQ-CP, Vietnam exempted visas for 45 days from the date of entry, regardless of passport type or purpose of entry for citizens of 13 countries, including: South Korea, Japan, Russia, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Belarus.

According to data released by the General Statistics Office, the number of international visitors to Vietnam in 2024 will reach over 17.5 million, an increase of about 40% compared to 2023 and equal to 98% compared to the period before the Covid-19 pandemic (2019).

South Korea is the largest tourist market in 2024 with more than 4.5 million arrivals, accounting for 25.98%. China is in second place, reaching 3.7 million arrivals, accounting for 21.26%. The next positions in the 10 markets include Taiwan (China), Japan, India, Malaysia, Australia, Cambodia and Thailand.

Notably, China is the best growth market in 2024, with the number of visitors equal to 214% compared to 2023. The remaining good growth markets include Russia, Italy, Sweden, France - all countries on the list of countries with unilateral visa exemption.
