| Authorities have taken custody of the pangolin. |
Earlier, on May 4th and 5th, while strolling near Long Ho Bridge, Mr. Ly Chu Tai and Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long, both residents of Hoa Do 6B residential area, Bac Cam Ranh ward, discovered a small animal suspected to be a pangolin. Recognizing that the animal was young and that pangolins primarily live in natural forests, its presence near the bridge and close to a residential area was inconsistent with its natural habitat and posed a potential threat to its life. Driven by a desire to protect wildlife, that same afternoon, the two men promptly brought the animal to the ward police station to report its discovery and hand it over to the relevant authorities for processing according to regulations.
The timely and responsible actions of Mr. Ly Chu Tai and Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long not only contributed to protecting the safety of rare animals but also demonstrated a spirit of self-awareness and compliance with the law. This is a meaningful act that deserves praise and should be emulated.
