More than just destinations, these historical sites have become "classrooms without blackboards," where history is experienced and felt. There, young people not only listen but also reflect for themselves, understanding that behind today's peace lie countless sacrifices and losses.
Keep the flame alive for future generations.
The good news is that history is gradually becoming ingrained and spreading among young people. When historical memories are recreated through authentic stories, the younger generation receives them with emotion and pride.
The teachings from previous generations remain just as valuable. Ms. Huynh Thanh Hoa, former Secretary of the Bac Lieu City Youth Union, advised: "Today's generation must cherish the value of peace, live a useful life, and understand the history of their homeland."
In the solemn atmosphere of the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Temple (Phu Tho Hamlet, Tri Phai Commune), veteran Nguyen Van Dau slowly recounted memories of a time of war and fire, about the arduous but resilient years of his ancestors. His voice was simple and calm, yet each word resonated deeply, moving the listeners. He shared: “Today’s young generation must engrave those heroic days in their hearts. The more proud we are of our traditions, the more responsible we must be, striving to study, train, and contribute to be worthy of what our ancestors sacrificed with their blood.”

Continuing that tradition, today's young people are proactively keeping the flame alive through many creative approaches. According to Ms. Nguyen Thuy Huynh, Secretary of the Tri Phai Commune Youth Union, activities such as visiting historical sites, holding photo contests at " red addresses ," and disseminating information on social media help union members and young people better understand the history of their homeland. This fosters national pride and enhances the awareness of preserving and promoting revolutionary traditions among today's youth.
Mr. Thich Quang Thiet, Abbot of Vinh Duc Pagoda and former Chief Secretary of the Bac Lieu Provincial Buddhist Association in 1975 (far left), recounts the history and important events associated with this historical site.
The history of Ca Mau is not just a milestone, but a continuous flow connecting generations. When young people understand, take pride in, and act upon this tradition, it will not be forgotten, but will continue to be nurtured and shine brightly – like a persistent flame illuminating the journey of building the homeland and the nation.
