The 2024/25 National Cup Quarterfinals will take place at the latest match between Hai Phong Club and Hanoi Police Club at 7:15 p.m. today (April 22) at Lach Tray Stadium. This is a very exciting match because both teams want to conquer the National Cup championship.

On the current V.League 2024/25 rankings, Hanoi Police Club is temporarily ranked 5th and Hai Phong is ranked 8th. However, with the knockout format like the National Cup, interesting surprises always happen. The clashes between Hai Phong and Hanoi Police are always exciting and tense. In the first leg of the V.League, both teams drew 1-1 at Lach Tray Stadium. In the 2023/2024 season, Hai Phong Club also beat Hanoi Police Club 3-1 in the first leg at Lach Tray Stadium (and lost 1-5 in the second leg at Hang Day Stadium).

The home team Hai Phong has now relieved the psychological pressure after a series of recent successful matches, escaping the pursuit of the bottom group and rising to 8th place (24 points). In round 19 of V.League, coach Chu Dinh Nghiem and his team won 2-0 against Quy Nhon Binh Dinh Club to "press" this opponent further down on the race to the safe group. These are extremely important premises for Hai Phong Club to confidently welcome Hanoi Police with the goal of winning and advancing to the Semi-finals.

Coach Polking and his team have not really made the fans of this team feel secure with their recent performance. There were many times when Hanoi Police thought they had escaped from a series of inconsistent matches to return to the V.League championship race.

However, Quang Hai and his teammates did not play well and were left far behind the top group of the rankings. Having just won two matches in rounds 17 and 18, Hanoi Police stumbled in round 19 when they drew with Ho Chi Minh City FC at Hang Day. Therefore, traveling to Lach Tray to meet the home team was a big challenge for the star-studded squad in Mr. Polking's hands.

The winner of the Quarter-Final match on April 22 will face The Cong Viettel Club – another name that is also very ambitious to win the National Cup. The remaining Semi-Final match has also been determined to be the match between Song Lam Nghe An Club and Becamex Binh Duong Club.
