The story of student Le Thi Huong Ly – from the 20th cohort of the College-level bridging program in Restaurant and Food Service Management – is a clear example of this.
Before becoming a student in the college-level bridging program, Huong Ly was a dual-degree student, studying in the Intermediate Hotel and Restaurant Management class 3 – K38 at the College of Urban Construction.
From the very beginning of her career, she showed a particular fondness for the service industry and a desire to develop a long-term career in the restaurant and hotel sector. During her studies at the school, Huong Ly realized that it was not only a place for vocational training but also an environment that helped students develop comprehensively in terms of professional skills, work ethic, and soft skills.
Thanks to the dedication of the experienced teaching staff, who closely guide students in every practical lesson, I have decided to continue my studies in the College-level bridging program in Restaurant and Food Service Management to enhance my professional skills and pursue my passion.
Throughout her studies, Huong Ly participated in numerous practical activities, intensive training sessions, and especially vocational skills competitions. Through her continuous efforts and well-honed skills, she excelled, winning Third Prize in the Vocational Skills Competition organized by Hanoi City, and receiving certificates and commendations for her outstanding achievements. Beyond competitions, Huong Ly also had the opportunity to intern in various professional environments such as Hue Restaurant and the 5-star Melia Hotel.
During her internship, Ly consistently received praise from department managers for her sense of responsibility, serious work ethic, and proficient professional skills. These practical experiences helped her mature, become more confident, and accumulate valuable experience for her future career.

Training quality is closely linked to practical application.
Besides her professional skills, Huong Ly is also highly regarded for her communication abilities, problem-solving skills, professional demeanor, and teamwork skills – all crucial elements in the modern service industry.
Currently, Huong Ly is working as a Head Waiter at a European restaurant specializing in European cuisine and wine – a position perfectly aligned with her chosen field of study and passion.
Huong Ly's journey is a testament to the practical, high-quality training in Restaurant and Food Service Management at the College of Urban Construction. With a dynamic, hands-on learning environment, dedicated lecturers, and opportunities to connect with businesses even while still in school, students can confidently develop their careers and achieve success.
