Excited to return after 14 years.
It has been over 14 years since Thanh Nien Newspaper's Exam Season Counseling program returned to the southern Quang Tri region (the last time was in 2012 in the former Quang Tri province). Therefore, upon receiving the proposal to co-organize the event, Dr. Le Thi Huong, Director of the Department of Education and Training of the new Quang Tri province, expressed her joy and support. According to Ms. Huong, the 2026 high school graduation exam will have many notable changes in regulations and organization. Holding the Exam Season Counseling program in Quang Tri at this time will help local students access important information early, thereby being more proactive in choosing their careers and future orientation.
"This is a long-standing and prestigious program that attracts the attention of students nationwide. With the changes to this year's exam, receiving direct information from the Ministry of Education and Training and universities and colleges will help students feel more confident before the upcoming exam. The Quang Tri education sector will create all favorable conditions for the program to be successful," Ms. Huong shared.

The program was held at Dong Ha High School, one of the schools with a rich tradition in the newly established Quang Tri province (formerly part of the old Quang Tri province). For many years, the school has consistently had many students achieving high academic results and excelling in important exams, making a positive contribution to the overall achievements of the local education sector.
Ms. Ta Thi Thu Hien, Principal of Dong Ha High School, said that the school was honored to be chosen as the venue for this year's program. With a long tradition and experience in organizing many major events for the education sector, the school's teachers and students have made thorough preparations to welcome the program. "We believe that with the prestige and experience of Thanh Nien Newspaper, this year's Exam Season Counseling program at our school will be successful, providing useful information and leaving a positive impression on students, parents, and teachers," Ms. Hien shared.
An atmosphere of excitement also spread among the students. Nguyen Phuong Tue Nhu (a 12th-grade student from Dong Ha High School) said she was very much looking forward to this program because it was a rare opportunity to directly hear important information about the upcoming exam. "I have many questions related to the exam regulations, the way questions are formulated, and the admission methods of universities. This year, the high school graduation exam is being held earlier than in previous years, so I want to learn more to prepare as best as possible. The fact that the program is being held right at my school makes me feel really lucky," Nhu said.
Not only students from the "host" school but also many teachers and students from other schools expressed their anticipation for the program. Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hong, Principal of Le The Hieu High School (Cam Lo commune), said that the school had planned for all 12th-grade students to participate. According to Ms. Hong, the school is located more than 30 km from the event venue, but this is a very valuable opportunity for students to directly interact with education experts and representatives from many universities. "It's been a long time since our students had the opportunity to attend such a large-scale and prestigious counseling program. The school decided to create conditions for 100% of 12th-grade students to participate. They are all very excited about this event," Ms. Hong shared.
Opening up future possibilities for students.
This year's Exam Season Counseling Program brought together many delegates and experts in the field of education. These included Dr. Le My Phong, Deputy Director of the Quality Management Department under the Ministry of Education and Training; representatives from the education sector and universities and colleges nationwide.
Also attending the program were Ms. Le Thi Huong, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri province; Ms. Tran Thi Thu, Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Youth Union; Ms. Ta Thi Thu Hien, Principal of Dong Ha High School, along with representatives from approximately 25 universities and colleges.

This year's program attracted nearly 4,000 students from various high schools in the southern part of Quang Tri province. In addition to attending in person, students and parents could also follow the program through Thanh Nien Newspaper's online platforms. The entire program was broadcast live on thanhnien.vn , and simultaneously streamed on Thanh Nien Newspaper's fanpage, YouTube, and TikTok, allowing students from distant locations to follow and access necessary information.
This year's program is divided into two sessions. The morning session is for approximately 1,500 students from Dong Ha High School, Le Loi High School, Le Quy Don Specialized High School in Quang Tri, the combined-level program of Quang Tri Teacher Training College, and Trung Vuong High School in Quang Tri. In the afternoon of the same day, the program continues with a second counseling session for 1,700 students from the following high schools: Le The Hieu, Cam Lo, Nguyen Huu Than, Chu Van An, Trieu Phong, Vinh Dinh, and Che Lan Vien.
Here, students have the opportunity to ask representatives from the Ministry of Education and Training, as well as universities and colleges, questions directly about issues of interest such as exam regulations, exam structure, admission methods, and future career opportunities.
According to education experts, the 2026 high school graduation exam has several notable new features. These include an earlier exam date compared to previous years, and the Ministry of Education and Training not releasing sample exam questions as in recent years. These changes have attracted considerable attention from students and parents, as they directly impact exam preparation and career choices. Therefore, the Exam Season Counseling program is considered a crucial opportunity for students to receive accurate and comprehensive information.
In addition, many universities and colleges are also adjusting their admission methods for 2026. Some changes related to the calculation of bonus points, priority points, or subject combinations for admission are explained in detail by the schools during the program.
In addition to direct consultations, universities and colleges also set up numerous information booths right on the program's campus. Here, students can learn detailed information about majors, the learning environment, job opportunities, and also interact directly with representatives from the schools.
The organizers hope that through this program, students in Quang Tri will gain more useful information to prepare for the high school graduation exam as well as choose their future educational path.
The Nguyen Thai Binh scholarship was awarded during the Exam Season Counseling program.
Within the framework of the program, the organizers also awarded 13 Nguyen Thai Binh scholarships to students from disadvantaged backgrounds who have strived to excel in their studies, with support from the University of Finance - Marketing, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, and Au Lac College in Hue . This is an annual activity of the Exam Season Counseling program aimed at encouraging and supporting students on their academic journey.
