Dong Thap youth spread digital knowledge in border areas

The visit shows the deep concern of the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee, fueling the enthusiasm of young people who are working hard to contribute to the community.

Nearly 60 volunteer students from universities and colleges in Dong Thap province are "fighting" in border localities, including: Dong Thap University (40 students) in Thuong Lac ward and Tan Ho Co, Tan Thanh, Thuong Phuoc communes; Dong Thap Medical College (10 students) in Hong Ngu ward; Dong Thap Community College (10 students) in Tan Hong commune. Notably, they also received close coordination from the local Border Guard force.

This peak period takes place from July 21 to July 25, 2025, focusing on supporting people in border areas to carry out administrative procedures and promote digital transformation locally.

Deputy Secretary of Dong Thap Provincial Youth Union Nguyen Thanh Luan believes that with the enthusiasm and pioneering spirit of the youth, the volunteers will continue to promote their pioneering role in bringing digital knowledge closer to people in the border areas. This is not only a volunteer activity but also a meaningful contribution, contributing to building Dong Thap province to be more modern and sustainable in the digital age.

These activities in response to "Digital Literacy for All" are not only practical volunteer days, but also have great significance in popularizing basic digital knowledge and skills for people in 11 border communes and wards of Dong Thap province. Thereby, raising awareness, forming habits and skills to apply digital technology in daily life, contributing to narrowing the digital gap between regions and promoting the pioneering role of Dong Thap youth.

The "Digital Education for the People" Student Volunteer Teams are bringing digital knowledge to every home and every citizen with a variety of activities such as: Propagating and raising digital awareness: Organizing live communication sessions, introducing digital citizenship, basic digital skills and the role of digital transformation. Providing instructions on using essential platforms such as VNeID, National Public Services, e-wallets, digital banks...

"1-on-1" Support, going to each household or group to support the installation of VNeID, e-wallet; instructions on how to use the National Public Service Portal, scan QR codes, pay for electricity and water online and especially protect personal accounts. Training in basic digital and AI skills, opening classes on how to look up official information, fight fake news, introduce simple AI tools (ChatGPT, Gemini) and skills to protect personal data, and prevent technology fraud.

"Little Digital Citizen" Playground for students aged 8-14 to get acquainted with computers, experience learning/entertainment tools, safe Internet usage skills and introduce simple AI. Deploy "Market 4.0" and "Cashless Canteen", instruct small traders and restaurants to install e-wallets, pay by QR code, making transactions more convenient and transparent.
