Quang Tri youth embark on a new journey.

The day Quang Binh and Quang Tri officially merged to form the new Quang Tri province also marked the beginning of July – a special month of gratitude dedicated to heroic martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers, and families of those who contributed to the revolution. In this atmosphere of excitement, the youth of Quang Tri simultaneously built and implemented many meaningful projects and tasks, opening up a journey full of faith and hope.

Working together to build the movement

After days of tireless volunteer work, Nguyen Tuan Hung, Secretary of the Youth Union of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, beamed as he reviewed the activities organized in July. Immediately after the merger, despite the busy workload, the Youth Union of the Provincial People's Committee promptly launched the "Green Summer" and "Pink Holiday" campaigns, creating a vibrant atmosphere of competition among its members and young people.

Many commemorative activities were organized, such as: replacing thousands of lotus flowers and hundreds of flower vases at the martyrs' cemetery; organizing the program "The Heroic Epic Resounds Forever," offering songs and presenting 100 gifts to beneficiaries of social policies; mobilizing more than 500 union members to light candles in gratitude...

At the grassroots level, the spirit of "not letting the movement rest" is concretized through many projects and activities. Hung said: "After the merger, the Youth Union of the Provincial People's Committee has 46 grassroots units with nearly 4,700 members. Overcoming initial difficulties, the young people quickly adapted, upholding the spirit of solidarity and working together to build the movement."

In Nam Dong Ha ward, Le Chi Nhuan, Deputy Secretary of the Ward Youth Union, also stated that one of the first activities of the ward's Youth Union after the merger was to establish a volunteer youth team to support the operation of the two-tiered government system and help people resolve administrative procedures.

The activities of gratitude were organized with great emphasis, forming a large-scale political campaign. "The determination of Party members and young people to contribute to building their homeland has increased significantly and has been concretized by them through positive actions," Mr. Nhuận affirmed.

Not only the Youth Union of the Provincial People's Committee and the Youth Union of Nam Dong Ha Ward, but also, after the merger of the two provinces, in an atmosphere of excitement and competition, the youth movement in units and localities throughout the area continued to develop vigorously. Closely connected to reality, the Youth Union officials organized many activities to help solve difficult problems and challenges in the locality.

Under the direction of the Provincial Youth Union, 79 youth volunteer teams with the participation of more than 1,500 union members were established to support the operation of the two-tiered government system and help people resolve administrative procedures. Annual activities such as "Green Summer," "Pink Holiday," and helping people eliminate dilapidated and leaky houses continue to be maintained, organized, and implemented effectively. Many new projects and initiatives have been launched, receiving high levels of support and participation.

Start with a grateful heart.

According to Mr. Dinh Trung Hieu, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Youth Union, after the merger, the province currently has 4,895 youth union branches, 296 grassroots youth union branches with 75,246 members. If fully utilized, this large, young, and dynamic force will create many positive changes. "Recognizing this, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union has promptly reorganized the organization and developed key work programs and plans."

"Initially, we were very pleased to receive strong support and positive response from youth union officials, members, and young people. This is clearly demonstrated by the fact that the activities and movements of the youth in Quang Tri have been well maintained and developed over the past period," Mr. Hieu informed.

Mr. Dinh Trung Hieu added that the time of the province's merger also marked the beginning of the Month of Gratitude, so the "Remembering the Source" activities received special attention from all levels of the Youth Union. The Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union took the lead in organizing a series of "showing gratitude" activities throughout the province.

Thanks to the combined efforts of the Youth Union officials, members, and young people, the series of activities was successfully carried out and highly appreciated. In particular, the national-level program – the candle-lighting ceremony to honor the heroes and martyrs at the Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery – left a deep impression.

According to statistics from the Provincial Youth Union, in July, youth union branches at all levels mobilized nearly 19,000 man-days to clean, repair, and beautify memorial sites and historical relics. 20 free medical examination and treatment points were organized, providing practical support to approximately 2,500 policy beneficiaries and people in difficult circumstances.

Youth union officials visited, encouraged, and presented over 1,900 gifts, worth more than 950 million VND, to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and beneficiaries of social policies. The programs "Family Meal, Warmth of Mother's Love" and "Reunion Meal, Warmth of Love" have been expanded to many rural areas.

Heroic Vietnamese Mother Dao Thi Vui, residing in Hai Lang commune, Quang Tri province, shared: “My husband and son both sacrificed their lives in the war. The frequent visits and help from the Youth Union members have comforted me somewhat. These past few days, they've even cooked meals, given gifts, and offered songs and music… which has deeply moved me.”

According to Dinh Trung Hieu, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Youth Union, the encouraging results of youth union work and youth movements after the province's merger have created more motivation and confidence for youth union officials, members, and young people on the new path.

"We will continue to strive to maximize the pioneering and volunteer spirit of the youth of Quang Tri, keeping the flame of gratitude burning brightly in the hearts of every member and youth," Mr. Hieu affirmed.
