This statue is a masterpiece of Champa art, reflecting the strong intermingling between Champa and Indian cultures. Crafted from dark gray sandstone, it stands 61 cm tall, weighs 13 kg, and dates from the 8th-9th centuries. The artifact was accidentally discovered by locals before 1945 while farming in Bac Binh. In 2001, the statue was handed over to the former Binh Thuan Provincial Museum for management, preservation, and display. According to the Lam Dong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Avalokitesvara statue from Bac Binh is one of the representative works, representing the transitional period from the 8th-9th century sculptural style to the peak of Champa art in the 9th-10th centuries.
