Musician Pham Duy (1921 - 2013), real name Pham Duy Can, was born in Hanoi . He is one of the great trees of Vietnamese modern music. Not only a talented musician, singer, and music researcher, he also owns a huge treasure of immortal music with more than 1,000 songs of many genres. He is the one who has made great contributions in building and shaping Vietnamese modern music from the 1940s onwards, especially the genre of love songs, written about love for people, love for homeland, and country.
