The Vietnamese women's volleyball team got off to a good start in the first round of the SEA V-League 2025 with an easy 3-0 victory over Indonesia. However, according to coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet, the Vietnamese athletes have not yet reached their best form. This is understandable as this is only the first match for Thanh Thuy and her teammates.

Besides, in the opening match, against a not-so-strong opponent, Coach Tuan Kiet continuously rotated the squad, even using many reserve players instead of fielding the strongest squad.

Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's intention is very clear: Give the second team a chance, and at the same time save the strength of the pillars to have the best preparation for the important match with Thailand. This is the "final" match of the first leg of SEA V-League.

Before meeting host Thailand, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team had to deal with the Philippines. In the opening match, the Philippines tried their best but still lost 1-3 to host Thailand.

According to experts, if they play at their best, Bich Tuyen and her teammates will win. Since the beginning of 2025, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team has met the Philippines twice at the AVC Nations Cup (June) and VTV Cup 2025 (July), both times winning against opponents in the same region.

Unlike the opening match, coach Tuan Kiet must be more cautious in this match because the Philippines understands the Vietnamese women's volleyball team very well. Therefore, key players such as Bich Tuyen , Thanh Thuy, Lam Oanh, Khanh Dang, Bich Thuy... are likely to be used in the starting lineup, aiming to defeat the opponent in 3 sets.

The Vietnam vs Philippines women's volleyball match will take place at 1:30 p.m. on August 2 in Nakhon Ratchasima (Thailand).
