The path to change comes from unity.

The inter-hamlet road leading to the Museum and Library area in residential group 14, Dong Tam ward, Lao Cai province, used to be a nightmare every time the rainy season and floods arrived. However, now the road has been paved with concrete, is clean and spacious, contributing to improved transportation conditions and a better life for the people.

The road is paved with concrete, making it neat and clean.

Previously, this road was just a narrow dirt road, overgrown with weeds and littered with trash. More seriously, it was once a hotspot for social vices, with many discarded syringes scattered around, causing a loss of public order and urban aesthetics. Whenever it rained, the road became muddy and slippery, making travel difficult for residents.

For Dong Tam 14 residential area, which is frequently affected by flooding, this road is considered the only "escape route." Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc, a resident of the area, shared: "Whenever there is flooding, this is the road people use to avoid being submerged. However, the muddy dirt road is very inconvenient and poses many dangers." It is precisely because of this urgent need that the idea of paving the road with concrete has received the absolute support and agreement of the residents, especially those who frequently travel through this area.

The women in the neighborhood regularly sweep and keep the streets clean.

Mr. Nguyen Cong Anh, head of Dong Tam 14 residential group in Yen Bai ward, said: "Because the locality experienced a severe flood last year, and residents had to contribute a lot to overcome the consequences, mobilizing more from the people is quite difficult. Given this reality, the residential group has proactively mobilized social resources from philanthropists and generous individuals to implement the project."

Following the neighborhood's initiative, many generous donors enthusiastically responded and offered their support. As a result, approximately 10 benefactors, including current Party members in the neighborhood, each contributed between 500,000 and 1,000,000 VND, helping to quickly complete the 60-meter-long, 3.5-meter-wide, and 7-centimeter-thick concrete road. What is particularly commendable is that many of the donors did not register their names or demand any benefits; their contributions stemmed from a sense of responsibility and a desire for the common good of the community.

The path of consensus.

Throughout the construction process, the role of the Women's Association cannot be overlooked. Ms. Truong Thi Mai, Head of the Women's Association of Dong Tam 14 residential area, said: "The women in the association regularly bring drinks and snacks to encourage the workers and residents building the road, regardless of sunny or rainy days. When the road is completed, the women volunteer to clear trees and sweep regularly to keep the road clean and beautiful."

The changes to the road not only bring joy and excitement to the residents, but also create more motivation for the neighborhood committee to continue implementing new plans. Currently, the neighborhood committee is struggling to find funding to renovate a 30-meter-long sloping section and another road approximately 150 meters long.

The newly completed road in Dong Tam 14 residential area is not simply a patchwork of concrete sections, but was created from understanding, responsibility, and a spirit of solidarity. This proves that when the people are united and guided by dedicated and responsible leadership, all financial difficulties can be gradually overcome, opening up new, spacious, safe, and meaningful roads for the lives of the residents.
