The Vietnamese women's team had a favorable start in the qualifying round when they won a resounding 7-0 victory over Maldives at Viet Tri Stadium.
Even though he only used the B team, coach Mai Duc Chung still showed his superiority by creating conditions for young players like Ngan Thi Van Su, Ngoc Minh Chuyen and Tran Thi Duyen to shine.

Van Su scored a brace in just the first 10 minutes of the match, before Bich Thuy, Nguyen Thi Van and My Anh scored three more goals, helping the home team lead 6-0 in the first half.
The second half saw the appearance of key players Huynh Nhu and Hai Yen. Although Huynh Nhu missed many opportunities, Hai Yen managed to leave her mark with a header to increase the score to 7-0 in the 66th minute.

Huynh Nhu had a good chance at the end of the match to get her name on the scoreboard, but the captain of the Vietnamese women's team hit the post. Despite their best efforts in defense in the second half, Maldives could not score an honorary goal.
With a resounding victory, the Vietnamese women's team had a perfect start and continued to show that they are the number 1 candidate in Group E for a ticket to qualify for the 2026 Asian Cup.
