On June 1, news from the Department of Education and Training of Can Tho City said that the city has 11,057 candidates registered to take the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year. Up to now, preparations have been carried out as planned, ready for the exam taking place from June 5-7.
Of the 11,057 candidates, 69 are from outside Can Tho (28 candidates registered for Pedagogical Practice High School, 41 candidates registered for Ly Tu Trong Specialized High School). The city has 28 examination councils with 476 examination rooms.
Can Tho City has 15 schools in the high competition group in the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year.

Compared to last year, the 10th grade entrance exam in Can Tho for the 2025-2026 school year has some notable new points. That is, the enrollment of French-enhanced classes in some high schools (Chau Van Liem, Phan Ngoc Hien, Nguyen Viet Hong, Bui Huu Nghia). The method of calculating the scores of the 3 exams does not include a coefficient. High schools will be allowed to consider additional enrollment if the number of students coming to complete the admission procedures is less than the enrollment quota.
The Department of Education and Training of Can Tho City said that it had previously organized training on enrollment and enrollment counseling for more than 600 homeroom teachers of secondary schools; provided online enrollment counseling for nearly 8,000 parents of grade 9 students at 27 locations. Up to now, the Department has organized 3 inspection teams for the 10th grade entrance exam; including organizing for teachers and students to study the entrance exam regulations to ensure that no teachers or students violate the exam.
