Vietnam team sets high goals
At the press conference before the second leg against Nepal, coach Kim Sang Sik affirmed that the goal of the Vietnamese team is to win a satisfying victory without conceding a goal at Thong Nhat Stadium tonight (October 14).
Nepal, despite causing some difficulties in the first leg, is still considered inferior to the Vietnamese team in terms of class and international competition experience, so Mr. Kim Sang Sik's goal of getting 3 points is considered not too difficult to complete.
But to “ win resoundingly, without conceding a goal ” in a context where the opponent has had the opportunity to closely observe Vietnam’s playing style is a different story. It is similar to the way coach Kim Sang Sik’s team, despite beating Laos 5-0 in the past, still had many doubts, for example.

Under coach Kim Sang Sik, both the Vietnam national team and the Vietnam U23 team have one thing in common: a slow start. Most of the team’s goals come in the second half, when the opponent is out of breath, instead of creating strong pressure from the start. The first leg against Nepal was no exception.
With his sights set on qualifying for the Asian Cup, Mr. Kim certainly understands that a hard-fought victory against a weak opponent is not enough to create confidence in fans.
Vietnam needs to win beautifully, play dominantly, score early and keep a clean sheet – something that has rarely been done recently – and is a real challenge for the Korean strategist.
Need Mr. Kim Sang Sik to be reckless
So how to break the deadlock early and aim for an explosive victory? The answer is probably that coach Kim Sang Sik needs to take risks, instead of being too safe like in the past matches.
It can be seen that the fact that the Vietnamese team did not have many changes in personnel compared to previous matches was a fatal weakness, creating conditions for Nepal to easily "predict" and organize defense.

Therefore, making changes to surprise the opponent is a prerequisite if coach Kim Sang Sik wants to fully complete the goals he has set.
This change needs to come from new elements in the attack. Strikers who have not had many opportunities to show their skills such as Thanh Nhan, Gia Hung, Phi Hoang… or even players who have played for the national team but are rarely used such as Van Khang, Dinh Bac.
The above mentioned group of players may be a little bit weaker in terms of expertise, but their youth, speed and most importantly, their desire to express themselves are a big surprise for the Nepalese defense, which has "read the cards" of the Vietnamese team.
It's time for coach Kim Sang Sik to be a little reckless to bring an explosion to the Vietnamese team in the match against Nepal tonight, October 14.
