On the afternoon of April 13th, the Vietnam U16 women's team played their second match in the UEFA International U16 Women's Football Friendly Tournament in Türkiye. Despite losing 0-8 to a strong opponent from the USA, the Vietnamese U16 girls showed good fighting spirit and learned valuable lessons.
The US U16 women's team was considered a strong contender for the championship in this friendly tournament. Their players, possessing superior physique and excellent technique, launched numerous attacks threatening the Vietnamese U16 women's team's goal. However, Coach Akira Ijiri's players fought hard and blocked many of the opposing team's shots. At the end of the first half, the score was 3-0 in favor of the US U16 women's team.

In the second half, the Vietnamese girls played with more effort and created several counter-attacking opportunities. However, these attacks were not enough to put pressure on the opponent's goal. The difference in physical strength and stature also caused the U16 Vietnamese women's team to concede more goals in this half. Ultimately, the U16 US women's team won 8-0.
Sharing her thoughts after the match, Tran Thi Huong said: “The U16 US team is very strong. They are superior in technique, height, and physical strength. After the second match, I learned a lot more and have to try harder. Although the team lost, everyone tried their best for the national flag.”
"The next match is against the Turkish U16 women's team, which is also a strong opponent. We will try to play even better to get a good result," expressed the player born in 2008 from the Thai Nguyen Sports Training and Development Center.
The final group stage match for the Vietnam U16 women's team will take place at 3:30 PM on April 16th (Vietnam time) against host nation Türkiye.
