After losing to Thailand in the semi-finals, Vietnam U16 women's team faced Indonesia in the third-place match of the Southeast Asian U16 Women's Championship. Although this was not a championship match, both teams played with great determination.

Vietnam U16 women's team opened the scoring in the 2nd minute. Ngoc Anh fired a not-so-strong shot right in front of the penalty area. The ball lightly touched the Indonesian player's foot and flew into the opponent's net.
The early goal helped Vietnam U16 women play more excitedly. We continuously put pressure on Indonesia's goal. In the 10th minute, Linh Chi hit the crossbar of Indonesia U16 women's goal.
However, in the 15th minute, the home team Indonesia equalized 1-1 with a goal by Nafeeza. The stalemate continued until the end of the first half.
In the second half, coach Okiyama increased the attack by sending players Minh Anh, Ha Yen Nhi, Le Thi Hong Thai and Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh onto the field. However, Indonesia's tight defense prevented the U16 women's team from making a difference. The most dangerous chance for the U16 women's team in this match was Linh Chi's second shot that hit the crossbar in the 55th minute.
The match had to go into a penalty shootout to determine the winner. In the penalty shootout, Vietnam U16 women's team defeated Indonesia with a score of 7-6. With this result, we won the bronze medal of the tournament.
After the match, many Indonesian players cried on the field. They were very determined in the tournament at home but could not complete the task.

Evaluating the team's performance, Coach Okiyama said that the players and coaching staff were united and fought together. The Japanese coach said: "We wanted to finish the match within 90 minutes. However, the opponent played well, strongly, and had home field advantage.
Despite playing under high pressure, our players were confident, did not lose heart, and fought with all their might. The penalty shootout was also a very good experience for the players. Away from home, under the pressure of the audience, this opportunity does not always exist and the players performed well.
