Vietnam U17 women's team won big on the opening day of the 2026 AFC U17 Qualifiers

VHO - In the first match of Group D of the 2026 AFC U17 Women's Football Championship Qualifiers held at Binh Duong Stadium (Ho Chi Minh City) on the afternoon of October 13, the Vietnam U17 women's team won 5-0 against the Guam U17 women's team.

In this match, coach Okiyama Masahiko used a 4-4-2 formation with the starting lineup consisting of goalkeeper Cam My; the four defenders Linh Chi, Hoang Thi Giang, Tran Thi An and Hai Yen; the midfield consisting of Kim Chi, Hong Thai, Thao Nguyen and Thu Phuong; while Minh Anh and Ngoc Anh played as a pair of strikers.

The Vietnamese girls had a very good match.

In the 21st minute, Minh Anh opened the score with an accurate shot from a narrow angle after a technical dribble on the right wing.

In the 41st minute, striker number 10 continued to shine with a beautiful volley in the penalty area, doubling the gap for the Vietnam U17 women's team.

In the second half, the game completely tilted towards the home team. In the 54th minute, Yen Nhi scored the third goal for the Vietnam U17 women's team.

In the 72nd minute, Minh Anh completed her hat-trick with a close-range shot, raising the score to 4-0. Before the match ended, Hong Thai scored another goal to seal the 5-0 victory for the Vietnam U17 women's team in the 86th minute.

This victory helps the Vietnam U17 women's team have a favorable start and a big advantage in the race to win tickets to the final round of the 2026 AFC U17 Women's Football Championship.

According to the schedule, Vietnam U17 women's team will play in the final match, against Hong Kong U17 women's team (China) on October 17, also at Binh Duong Stadium.

Meanwhile, Guam U17 women will meet Hong Kong U17 women (China) on October 15.
