On July 25, the first semi-final match between U23 Vietnam and U23 Philippines ended with a 2-1 victory for coach Kim Sang-sik and his team. Despite conceding an early goal, the red-shirted players maintained their spirit and successfully turned the tables thanks to goals from Dinh Bac and Xuan Bac. This result helped U23 Vietnam reach the regional final for the third consecutive time.

Meanwhile, the second semi-final match between Indonesia U23 and Thailand U23 took place later that evening. Coach Kim Sang-sik’s players took advantage of their precious break to watch the match live at their hotel. According to information from the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), observing opponents helps players initially identify their playing style, strengths and weaknesses.

In another approach, coach Kim Sang-sik and his assistants went directly to Gelora Bung Karno Stadium to observe the match from the stands. With careful preparation both tactically and mentally, the coaching staff wanted to have a more intuitive view before planning for the final match.

Vietnam U23's opponent will be host Indonesia U23, the team that defeated Thailand U23 in a thrilling penalty shootout. This is a big challenge for coach Kim Sang-sik and his team, because the team from the archipelago has home field advantage and an even squad.

However, U23 Vietnam is showing stability and bravery in the way they play. Through each match, Mr. Kim's students are adapting better to the tactical scheme and showing commendable cohesion. The journey to the final is not only the result of individual talent but also the effort of the whole team.

The final match between U23 Vietnam and U23 Indonesia will take place at 8pm on July 29 at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium. With determination and careful preparation, U23 Vietnam is aiming to defend its championship title.
