According to RT, St. Petersburg Governor Aleksandr Beglov announced on June 3rd that Ukraine had attacked several infrastructure facilities in the Kirovsky district, Krasnoselsky district, and the Kronstadt port area of the city with drones.
"There have been injuries in the Ukrainian attack. Emergency response forces have now been deployed to the affected areas to assess the damage and deal with the aftermath," Beglov said.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that his country conducted airstrikes targeting multiple objectives inside Russian territory on the night of June 2nd. "Many important targets were hit, including the St. Petersburg oil port, one of Russia's largest oil transit hubs," Zelensky said.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense , Russian air defense forces intercepted a total of 345 Ukrainian UAVs in the past 24 hours. In addition to St. Petersburg, affected areas included Moscow, Leningrad, Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Novgorod, Oryol, Pskov, Rostov, Smolensk, Tver, Tula, Krasnodar, and the Crimean Peninsula.
The Ukrainian attack occurred just before Russia was preparing to open the 29th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2026), an event often compared to the Davos Economic Forum.
According to Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov, approximately 20,000 delegates from over 100 countries will attend this year's SPIEF. Notably, the United States will also send representatives to the event for the first time in 10 years. In addition, Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to deliver a key speech on the final day of SPIEF.
