Specifically, the total prize money of the 2025 US Open has increased by 20% compared to last year, from 75 million USD to 90 million USD.

This is the "largest prize money in tennis history". The change is said to be in response to calls for "a redistribution of prize money at Grand Slam tournaments by top players".

Last year, Aryna Sabalenka and Jannik Sinner each received $3.6 million for winning the US Open. But this year, the US Open singles champion will receive a prize money of up to $5 million, a 39% increase.

What’s more, prize money in all rounds has increased by double digits. The first-round winner in singles will receive $110,000. Even a first-round loser will receive $27,500. The doubles winner will receive $1 million.

The 2025 US Open will take place from August 24 to September 7. In 2024, the US Open surpassed the 1 million attendance mark for the first time. This year, organizers predict that attendance could be even higher, which will help them increase the prize money.
