The ASEAN Committee in Santiago organizes cultural events and promoteseducational cooperation between ASEAN Embassies and the O'Higgins University community. |
The event was chaired by Thai Ambassador Vimolbajra Ruksakiati, Rotating Chair of ACS, with active participation of member Embassies.
Speaking at the meeting with the leadership of O'Higgins University, Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Viet Cuong emphasized his desire to promote educational cooperation, student exchange and scientific research between Vietnamese universities and O'Higgins University.
The Vietnamese exhibition area at the event featured unique cultural products such as lacquer paintings, publications introducing the country and people of Vietnam, and especially Vietnamese coffee, which attracted the attention and appreciation of students and lecturers of the school.
These activities contribute to deepening the understanding and sympathy of the Chilean academic community towards Vietnam in particular and Southeast Asia in general.
The event is also an opportunity for ASEAN embassies to introduce the history, culture and development potential of each country in the region, thereby expanding opportunities for multi-disciplinary cooperation with Chile, especially in the fields of education and research.
As the rotating Chair of ACS, Thai Ambassador Vimolbajra Ruksakiati has worked closely with member embassies to organize a rich and effective exchange program, thereby contributing to enhancing understanding of ASEAN in South America and promoting cooperation between Chile and the Southeast Asian region.
Activities at O'Higgins University clearly demonstrate the efforts of the ASEAN Committee in Santiago in enhancing cultural and educational exchanges and promoting international cooperation, while contributing to enhancing the presence and role of ASEAN in general, as well as the image of Vietnam in particular, in Chile.
