The spokesperson said that after receiving the information, Vietnamese representative agencies in Cambodia proactively worked with Cambodian authorities to find out information and requested the Cambodian side to ensure security, safety and living conditions for Vietnamese citizens, and coordinate to complete initial identity verification for these people.

Regarding the number of Vietnamese citizens repatriated, the spokesperson informed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has directed relevant units and representative agencies to coordinate with domestic agencies and the Cambodian side to carry out necessary consular procedures to soon bring citizens home.

The spokesman said that 33 citizens will be brought back from Cambodia in the coming time.

Faced with the complicated developments of fraud and forced labor crimes in Cambodia, countries have taken drastic measures to protect the rights and interests of citizens.

Ms. Hang emphasized that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is actively discussing with partner countries to establish cooperation mechanisms, improve the effectiveness of protecting Vietnamese citizens, and fight organized crime and high-tech crime in Cambodia and other locations in the region.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also directed Vietnamese representative agencies in Cambodia to closely monitor the situation, prepare necessary plans, and coordinate closely with domestic and local agencies to promptly deploy citizen protection work. Once again, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends that citizens do not follow invitations for easy jobs with high salaries to avoid being scammed.

The press reported that the body of a Korean woman was found in an area of ​​Vietnamese territory near the Cambodian border. Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said she would look into the matter.

"Vietnam is ready to cooperate in handling issues related to foreigners in accordance with Vietnamese and international law," Ms. Hang affirmed.
