Faced with the complicated developments of the tropical depression in the East Sea heading towards Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa, on December 2, Buon Kuop Hydropower Company, Dak Lak province, announced the operation of "lowering the water level" of the Srepok 3 hydropower reservoir.
The notice was sent to the Civil Defense Command of Dak Lak and Lam Dong provinces; the Department of Hydrometeorology; the Southern and Central Hydrometeorological Stations and the Hydrometeorological Stations of Dak Lak and Lam Dong provinces; the People's Committee of Dak Wil commune, Lam Dong province and the People's Committee of Ea Wer commune, Dak Lak province.
Implementing the inter-reservoir operation process on the Srepok River basin according to the Prime Minister 's decision and the plan for coordination in natural disaster prevention, control and search and rescue, at 10:00 a.m. on December 2, the Srepok 3 hydropower reservoir implemented the "lowering the reservoir water level" operation mode with the total discharge volume greater than the total water volume to the reservoir to gradually lower the reservoir water level to the lowest flood level of 271,000m.
The reservoir operating parameters at the time of lowering the reservoir water level are: Reservoir water level is 271.968m, normal water level is 272m; highest water level before flood is 272m, lowest flood level is 271m; downstream water level of the plant is 210.25m; water level at Ban Don Hydrological Station is 171.0m; water flow to the reservoir is 777m 3 /s; total discharge flow is 751m 3 /s, of which machine flow is 412m 3 /s and spill discharge flow is 339m 3 /s.
According to Buon Kuop Hydropower Company, the working condition of equipment, spillway and construction are all normal.
