As of 4:30 AM on December 21, 2024, the price of gold bars on the exchanges of several companies continued to remain stable.
The SJC gold price, as listed by Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC), is 81.8 million VND/ounce for buying and 83.8 million VND/ounce for selling, a decrease of 300,000 VND/ounce in both buying and selling prices compared to the previous trading session. The difference between the buying and selling price is 2.0 million VND.
Today, DOJI lists the price of 9999 gold at 81.8 million VND/ounce for buying and 83.8 million VND/ounce for selling. Compared to yesterday, the price of 9999 gold rings decreased by 300,000 VND/ounce in both buying and selling directions. The difference between the buying and selling price is 2.0 million VND.
Meanwhile, at Mi Hong Gold and Gemstone Company, the price of SJC gold at the time of the survey was listed at 83-83.8 million VND/ounce for buying and selling. Compared to yesterday, the price of SJC gold bars also decreased by 300,000 VND/ounce for both buying and selling.
At Bao Tin Minh Chau Co., Ltd., the price of SJC gold is also being traded at 82-83.8 million VND/ounce (buying price - selling price). Compared to yesterday, the price of gold decreased by 100,000 VND/ounce in the buying price and 300,000 VND/ounce in the selling price.
At Bao Tin Manh Hai, gold is currently trading at 81.9-83.8 million VND/ounce (buying price – selling price). Compared to yesterday, the price of gold decreased by 200,000 VND/ounce for buying and 300,000 VND/ounce for selling.

According to Kitco, the spot price of gold in the world market at 4:30 AM Vietnam time today was $2,620.67 USD/ounce. Today's gold price increased by 0.99% compared to yesterday. Converted using the USD exchange rate on the free market (25,730 VND/USD), the world gold price is approximately 81.3 million VND/ounce (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is currently 2.5 million VND/ounce higher than the international gold price.

According to Reuters, world gold prices continued to rise today, supported by a weaker US dollar and Treasury bond yields after US economic data showed slowing inflation, although the Federal Reserve's hawkish interest rate outlook caused bullion prices to continue falling this week.
Spot gold prices rose 1.2% to $2,624.15 per ounce as of 1:41 p.m. Eastern Time (1841 GMT), and US gold futures increased 1.4% to $2,645.10.
The US dollar (.DXY) fell 0.6% from its two-year high, making gold cheaper for overseas buyers, while Treasury yields edged lower from their highest levels in over six months.
The report showed that monthly inflation slowed in November after showing little improvement in recent months. The personal consumption expenditure (PCE) price index rose 0.1% last month after an unadjusted 0.2% increase in October.
"Not only were the PCE data weaker than expected, but personal income and personal spending data were also weaker than anticipated. We're seeing people returning to the gold market here and resetting their positions," said Phillip Streible, chief market strategist at Blue Line Futures.
"Now, suddenly, after two interest rate cuts that were already priced in, triggering a sharp gold sell-off, there's now the possibility of a third rate cut in a more dovish policy, but it's still too early to say anything for sure," Phillip Streible added.
Gold bullion prices fell 0.9% this week after the Fed's "dot chart" on Wednesday showed only two 25-basis-point interest rate cuts by 2025, signaling less easing than expected in September.
Higher interest rates increase the opportunity cost of holding gold, which does not yield any interest.
JP Morgan stated in a note that: "With physical demand currently holding a floor, this means we are heading into 2025 with relatively low expectations of Fed interest rate cuts, which could boost gold prices if inflation concerns become excessive, giving the Fed more room to maneuver."
Spot silver prices rose 1.8% to $29.54 per ounce, platinum prices increased 0.5% to $928.34, and palladium prices gained 1.5% to $919.56.
