The price of SJC gold was listed by Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) at 81.8 million VND/tael for buying and 83.8 million VND/tael for selling, down 300,000 VND/tael for both buying and selling compared to the previous trading session. The difference between the buying price and selling price is 2.0 million VND.
The price of 9999 gold today is listed by DOJI at 81.8 million VND/tael for buying and 83.8 million VND/tael for selling. Compared to yesterday, the price of 9999 gold rings decreased by 300,000 VND/tael in both buying and selling directions. The difference between the buying price and selling price is 2.0 million VND.
At Mi Hong Jewelry Company, the price of Mi Hong gold at the time of survey was listed at 83-83.8 million VND/tael for buying and selling. Compared to yesterday, the price of SJC gold bars also decreased by 300,000 VND/tael for both buying and selling.
SJC gold price at Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited is also traded by businesses at 82-83.8 million VND/tael (buying - selling). Compared to yesterday, gold price decreased by 100,000 VND/tael in buying - decreased by 300,000 VND/tael in selling.

World gold price today December 21, 2024 and world gold price fluctuation chart in the past 24 hours
According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 4:30 am today, Vietnam time, was 2,620.67 USD/ounce. Today's gold price increased by 0.99% compared to yesterday. Converted according to the USD exchange rate on the free market (25,730 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 81.3 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is 2.5 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.

According to Reuters, world gold prices continued to rise today, supported by a weaker US dollar and Treasury yields after US economic data showed slowing inflation, although the Federal Reserve's tough interest rate outlook caused bullion prices to continue to fall this week.
Spot gold rose 1.2% to $2,624.15 an ounce as of 1:41 p.m. ET (1841 GMT), and U.S. gold futures rose 1.4% to $2,645.10.
The dollar (.DXY) fell 0.6% from a two-year high, making gold cheaper for overseas buyers, while Treasury yields eased from their highest in more than six months.
The report showed monthly inflation slowed in November after showing little improvement in recent months. The personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index rose 0.1% last month after rising an unadjusted 0.2% in October.
“Not only the PCE data, the personal income data and personal spending data were weaker than expected. We’re seeing people coming back into the gold market here and repositioning,” said Phillip Streible, chief market strategist at Blue Line Futures.
"Now, suddenly going from two rate cuts that were priced in, causing a sharp sell-off in gold, to now the possibility of three rate cuts in a more accommodative policy, but it's still too early to tell," added Phillip Streible.
Bullion prices fell 0.9% this week after the Fed's "dot plot" on Wednesday showed just two 25 basis point rate cuts by 2025, signaling less easing than expected in September.
Higher interest rates increase the opportunity cost of holding gold, which does not pay any interest.
“With physical demand currently holding a floor, this means we are heading into 2025 with relatively low expectations of Fed rate cuts, which could boost gold prices if inflation fears become overblown, giving the Fed more room to maneuver,” JP Morgan said in a note.
Spot silver rose 1.8% to $29.54 an ounce, platinum rose 0.5% to $928.34 and palladium rose 1.5% to $919.56.
