Visiting a livable countryside village.

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - In the joyful atmosphere celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd, rural areas in the New Rural Development Program are bursting with new life, adorned with flags and flowers... This achievement is the result of the concerted efforts of Party committees, authorities, and the people in implementing the National Target Program for New Rural Development. Models such as "Clean houses, beautiful gardens, green fences," "green vegetable gardens, clean and beautiful houses, tidy livestock pens," and "Model roads"... have been and are creating livable spaces.

Visiting a livable countryside village.

The model road in Hamlet 4, Yen Ninh Commune, is clean, beautiful, and peaceful.

In May and June 2023, My Quan village (formerly Ha Vinh commune, Ha Trung district), now Bim Son ward, was surveyed and selected by the Provincial Women's Union and its branches to implement the "Clean House - Beautiful Garden - Green Fence" model. This model is an important part of the New Rural Development movement, linked to the "Building a Family with 5 No's and 3 Cleanliness Standards" campaign. Mr. Bui Van Hung, the model's leader, shared: "Implementing the model was not easy at first. Many households were hesitant to participate because they lacked the necessary conditions due to dilapidated houses, unsightly landscapes, and some faced financial difficulties. However, thanks to the persistent efforts of the women's branch and village officials, the people later actively participated."

Ms. Mai Thi Chien (50 years old), whose husband passed away early, works as a factory worker and therefore lacks the means to renovate her house. The Women's Association mobilized its members and neighbors to help her family clear weeds, patch walls, repaint the house, and rearrange the landscape. After more than 3 months, her family was recognized as one of the 12 exemplary households meeting the standards.

Twelve households participated in this model. Members of the Women's Union contributed labor, technical advice, and mobilized manpower to carry out the construction work. The Provincial Women's Union provided seedlings, which the villagers themselves propagated and purchased to continue planting. The men in the hamlet actively pulled wires, dug holes, planted trees, and installed streetlights for nighttime illumination... each person doing their part and always supporting each other to achieve the criteria. From July 1st, 2025, with the implementation of a two-tiered local government system, My Quan village was renamed My Quan Residential Group, belonging to Bim Son ward. The "Clean House - Beautiful Garden - Green Fence" model continues to be maintained and strongly promoted. The people of My Quan understand that preserving the landscape and environment is not only for cleanliness and beauty but also contributes to changing the urban appearance and improving the quality of life. To date, 12 households have been recognized as meeting the criteria, and the model has spread to 23 households in the group. The households actively planted flowers, cleaned the alleys and streets, and proposed new ideas to beautify the local landscape.

In Hamlet 4, Yen Ninh Commune, traveling along the more than 1km model road, you can enjoy the view of golden rice fields on one side and rows of sturdy, well-built houses on the other, reflecting the comfortable life of the people here. Hamlet 4 head Nguyen Van Thong shared: "Previously, this road was very narrow and difficult to travel on. Thanks to the New Rural Development movement, the Party branch received attention from the Party Committee and the People's Committee of the commune and decided to renovate and build the road into a model, creating a green highlight for the hamlet. The people proactively contributed their efforts to clear the overgrown corridor to make space for planting rows of betel nut trees combined with ornamental plants and flowers, creating a green and beautiful landscape. Every week, households take turns watering and pruning."

Building upon the achievements of the New Rural Development program in the old communes, in addition to economic development, the new communes, after implementing the two-tiered local government system, continue to promote the construction of a bright, green, clean, beautiful, and safe environment. Besides green fences, clean houses, beautiful gardens, and vegetable gardens, all main roads in the villages and residential areas of the communes and wards are equipped with security cameras, drainage ditches, and planted with flowers and ornamental trees.

Our first impression of the revolutionary rural areas in the communes of Thieu Toan, Thieu Tien, Yen Ninh, Tho Lap... and model and advanced new rural communes such as Truong Son, Quang Binh , Tho Ngoc, Nhu Xuan, Ngoc Lac, Thach Lap, Yen Dinh, Dinh Tan... was that life here is quite peaceful and tranquil. Along the central roads of the communes, there are rows of bauhinia and bougainvillea trees displaying their vibrant colors, creating colorful flower carpets. The inter-village and inter-hamlet roads are paved with clean, beautiful, and spacious concrete, and equipped with streetlights. Behind many spacious houses are clean and beautiful gardens.

Following the principle of "the State and the People working together" in building new rural areas, in addition to stimulus funding from higher levels, localities mainly mobilize social resources to build flower-lined roads, plant trees, install trash cans, and provide streetlights... creating rural aesthetics; many units have issued resolutions, established stimulus mechanisms, and organized movements and competitions... creating motivation and a high level of determination to implement the model. Once the model is established, people recognize the benefits, so many households proactively participate, creating "flower carpets," "rows of green trees," and rows of houses with flowers and neat, clean gardens that make anyone passing by want to stop and admire them.

Positive signs are evident in every home, every model road... creating a beautiful picture of many livable rural areas. This is the result of the New Rural Development process, with the hard work and dedication of the people and the Party committees and authorities of the localities.
