[Video] Issuing the National Science, Technology and Innovation Assessment Index Framework

The Ministry of Science and Technology has just issued Decision No. 2796/QD-BKHCN on "Indicator framework for monitoring and evaluating the potential, level of national science, technology and innovation".

This is an important tool to compare Vietnam with upper-middle-income countries, implementing the goals of Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation.

The index framework is built on the basis of the indicators in the Global Innovation Index (GII) published by WIPO and the SCImago system.

The indexes cover everything from human resources, R&D investment, university capacity, innovative startups to venture capital deals.

Applying the Index Framework will help Vietnam measure, compare, and position its science and technology capacity, thereby enhancing its potential, aiming to reach the leading group among upper-middle-income countries by 2030.
