On the afternoon of November 26, right after the talks between the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam and the Government of Guangxi Province, China, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien and Comrade Vi Thao - Chairman of the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China co-chaired the Conference on Trade Promotion, Investment and Connecting Business Relations between Vietnam and China (Guangxi).
The conference was organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in coordination with the Government of Guangxi Province, China with the participation of more than 200 Vietnamese and Chinese enterprises in the fields of: AI technology, e-commerce, machinery, production equipment, import and export, agricultural products, processed food, logistics, construction, investment...
The Vietnam - China (Guangxi) Trade, Investment Promotion and Business Connection Conference was organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in coordination with the Government of Guangxi Province, China with the participation of more than 200 businesses.
Economy and trade are the pillars of cooperation.
Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien highly appreciated the significance of the visit to Vietnam by the delegation of the Government and a large number of Guangxi enterprises led by Comrade Vi Thao, Chairman of the Government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
Minister Nguyen Hong Dien said that Comrade Vi Thao's first overseas business trip as Chairman of Guangxi with the participation of many Guangxi enterprises demonstrated the consistent importance of the leaders of the Party Committee, Government and business community of Guangxi in consolidating and further strengthening the economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and Guangxi .
According to the Minister, the presence of many representatives of ministries, branches, localities and the Vietnamese business community also demonstrates Vietnam's desire for sincere and effective cooperation with China.
Speaking at the opening of the conference, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien emphasized that Guangxi has a very important position and role in Vietnam-China economic and trade cooperation.
Referring to the economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and Guangxi province, China, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien said that over the past time, the two sides have witnessed the comprehensive friendly cooperation between Vietnam and China continue to develop deeply and extensively under the strategic guidance of the highest leaders of the two Parties and two States.
The bilateral relationship has entered the “second golden period” after the “first golden period” which was painstakingly built and nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh and Chairman Mao Zedong. In that context, economic and trade cooperation continues to affirm itself as one of the important pillars and strong driving force of the current golden period.
China has been Vietnam's largest trading partner for 21 consecutive years. Vietnam is also the fourth largest trading partner in the world and the largest in ASEAN with China. Bilateral trade turnover has been constantly improving and will set a new record in 2025 when the first 10 months of this year reached 207.8 billion USD, exceeding the 205.2 billion USD of the whole year of 2024 (according to Vietnam's statistics).
To achieve the above results, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien stated that, in addition to cooperating to create a favorable legal corridor for economics and trade with the Central Ministries and branches of China, the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade always attaches importance to establishing close working relationships with the Chinese local authorities to support the business communities of the two countries to strongly implement substantive investment and business cooperation activities, thereby contributing to the strong development of Vietnam - China economic and trade cooperation.
Vietnamese goods firmly established in the Chinese market
Minister Nguyen Hong Dien affirmed that Guangxi has a very important position and role in Vietnam-China economic and trade cooperation. The trade scale between Vietnam and Guangxi always accounts for a large proportion of the two countries' trade. For 25 consecutive years, Vietnam has also been Guangxi's largest trade partner and vice versa, Guangxi has always been one of the Chinese localities with the largest trade turnover with Vietnam.
Many high-quality Vietnamese export products have become familiar to Guangxi consumers and from here are widely distributed to domestic areas, contributing to building the Vietnamese product brand in the Chinese market.
Guangxi Province is also a locality with all types of connections serving economic, trade and industrial exchange activities between the two countries, specifically the "6 routes" including roads, railways, rivers, sea routes, airways and power transmission lines.
To promote the Vietnam-China cooperation relationship in general and Vietnam-Guangxi province, China in particular, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien said that the Ministry of Industry and Trade is ready to welcome more Chinese enterprises to Vietnam to expand investment and business cooperation.
Notably, according to Minister Nguyen Hong Dien, since signing the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the economic and trade fields in 2019, the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Guangxi Government have closely coordinated, overcome many difficulties, and facilitated cooperation and trade activities.
In addition, the two sides regularly carry out many trade and investment promotion activities, connecting practical trade, opening up effective cooperation opportunities for the business communities of the two countries.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade is ready to support Guangxi enterprises to expand their business.
Also in his opening speech, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien said that the Conference on Trade Promotion, Investment and Business Connection between Vietnam and China (Guangxi) is a substantial connecting event to implement the common perception of the leaders of the two Parties and two States in recent times.
With the participation of representatives of associations and more than 200 Vietnamese and Chinese enterprises in the fields of AI technology, e-commerce, machinery, production equipment, import and export, agricultural products, processed foods, logistics, construction, investment, etc., the Minister believes that the Conference will continue to create many good opportunities for businesses of both sides to strengthen connections, expand markets, and explore new cooperation potentials.
Regarding the content of the talks between the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam and the Government of Guangxi Province, China, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien said that the two sides highly agreed on measures to strengthen cooperation between the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Government of Guangxi to contribute to promoting economic and trade cooperation between the two sides. However, whether those measures are effective or not depends on the initiative, positivity and creativity of the business communities of both sides.
On the Vietnamese side, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is ready to welcome more businesses from Guangxi in particular, and China in general, to Vietnam to expand investment and business cooperation in areas where China has advantages such as high technology, environmental friendliness, and green transformation and digital transformation.
“Chinese enterprises cooperating with Vietnam not only have the opportunity to exploit the market of 100 million people but also the market of 600 million people in the ASEAN region, and at the same time approach partners with whom Vietnam has signed free trade agreements,” Minister Nguyen Hong Dien noted.
Minister Nguyen Hong Dien emphasized that the Vietnamese Government and the Ministry of Industry and Trade are committed to continuing to strongly reform administrative procedures, ensuring a public, transparent, and equitable business environment, and protecting the legitimate rights of foreign investors in general and enterprises from Guangxi, China in particular.
Vietnamese localities, especially provinces bordering Guangxi such as Lang Son, Cao Bang, Quang Ninh, Ha Giang... have been preparing clean land funds, modern industrial park infrastructure and the highest incentive policies to welcome the new wave of investment from Guangxi.
The Vietnamese Government and Ministry of Industry and Trade pledge to continue to accompany and support the business communities of both sides to maximize their cooperation potential, contributing to building a "Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of Strategic Significance" that is increasingly sustainable and brings practical benefits to the people of the two countries.
