Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, Uong Viet Dung, identified five goals for the aviation industry in 2026.

Institutional development continues to be prioritized, creating a synchronous legal corridor for civil aviation activities. The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has reviewed, developed, and reported to competent authorities the draft Law on Civil Aviation of Vietnam (amended) and is currently submitting it to the National Assembly for consideration. At the same time, the Authority is urgently completing sub-law legal documents to ensure synchronization as soon as the Law comes into effect.

At the same time, the Authority focused on removing difficulties, accompanying airlines in financial restructuring, supporting the leasing and purchase of new aircraft; improving the efficiency of the existing fleet, overcoming the shortage of supply capacity. The coordination of slots and monitoring of flight operations were strengthened; all cases of delays and cancellations were strictly handled, contributing to maintaining aviation security and safety.

In the field of international integration, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has actively negotiated and signed many bilateral and multilateral aviation agreements and treaties, promoting the "open sky" policy. By the 2025 winter flight schedule, there were 71 airlines from 30 countries and territories operating 142 regular international routes to Vietnam.

Digital transformation continues to make a strong impression with the deployment of the A-CDM model at airports and the application of VNeID biometric technology, helping to shorten procedure time, improve operational capacity, and reduce the load on infrastructure.

Director Uong Viet Dung emphasized: "In the context of many challenges, maintaining smooth, safe and effective mining operations in accordance with international regulations and standards is a great success of the entire industry, demonstrating a sense of responsibility towards the Party, State and people."

Entering 2026, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has identified five key goals: perfecting institutions, maintaining market growth momentum; continuing to support aviation businesses; promoting international cooperation; and promoting digital transformation and applying technology in state management.

With the results achieved in 2025 and a clear orientation for 2026, the Vietnamese aviation industry continues to affirm its important role in the integration and development process, contributing to the successful implementation of the country's industrialization and modernization.
