Vietnam has a new airline.

The Prime Minister has just signed a Decision approving the investment policy and the investor for the Sun PhuQuoc Airways project.

According to Decision No. 979/QD-TTg, the investor implementing the "Sun PhuQuoc Airways - SPA" project is Phu Quoc Sun Aviation Co., Ltd. This is a company belonging to the Sun Group .

The Sun PhuQuoc Airways project will add a new bridge, bringing Phu Quoc closer to domestic and international tourists.

The project aims to establish a new airline with a primary business model of commercial air passenger transport, combined with charter services for tourists traveling to major tourist and business centers in Vietnam and around the world , particularly popular coastal and island destinations, and bustling financial and commercial centers.

In particular, SPA was opened with the mission of bringing tourists from around the world to Phu Quoc Island. And having another airline flying to the island will also make it easier and more convenient for Vietnamese people to visit Phu Quoc.

According to the approved plan, SPA will have a total fleet size of 31 aircraft by 2030. The total investment for the project is 2,500 billion VND (equivalent to approximately 98.81 million USD).

The Prime Minister's official approval of the investment plan for Sun PhuQuoc Airways is a significant milestone for Vietnam's aviation industry and the development of Phu Quoc tourism . Along with other airlines in the market, Sun PhuQuoc Airways will contribute a new bridge, bringing Phu Quoc – the second most beautiful island in the world after the Maldives – closer to domestic and international tourists.

SPA is expected to officially launch its first flights in the fourth quarter of 2025, connecting Phu Quoc with key economic and tourism centers both domestically and internationally.

Along with Sun PhuQuoc Airways, Sun Group continues to operate the premium shared airline Sun Air, providing high-class, personalized, and specialized private jet services for luxury travelers.
