The draw results for the 2024 AFC U23 Championship qualifying round on the afternoon of May 25 put U23 Vietnam in Group C with Singapore, Guam, and Yemen.

This is a relatively easy group for U23 Vietnam. The three opponents Singapore, Guam and Yemen are not highly rated. Coach Philippe Troussier and his team can completely aim to win the top spot in Group C.
Not only that, U23 Vietnam also has home field advantage. Vietnam is one of 11 host countries of the 2024 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers.
The 2024 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers will feature 47 teams. The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has divided the teams into 11 groups, with 10 groups of four teams and one group of three teams. At the end of the qualifiers, the 11 group winners and the four best runners-up will qualify for the 2024 AFC U23 Championship finals in Qatar.
If host U23 Qatar is in the top 15 teams with the best qualifying results, the second-placed team with the fifth best result will qualify for the final round of the 2024 AFC U23 Championship.
The 2024 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers will take place from September 4 to 12, 2023.
The 2024 AFC U23 Championship finals will be held in Qatar from April 15 to May 3. Saudi Arabia is the current champion.
In the history of this tournament, U23 Vietnam reached the final in 2018 and the quarter-finals in 2022.
