The students include Nguyen Tri Hau, Nguyen Tri Hien (both 11th graders, Nguyen Binh Khiem High School for the Gifted, Quang Nam province), Nguyen Phuc Nguyen (11th grader, Newton Middle School - High School, Hanoi), Tran Quang Nhat (12th grader, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, Da Nang city), Lai Gia Khai (11th grader, High School for the Gifted, Hanoi National University of Education), Vu Viet Ha (12th grader, Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted, Hai Duong province).
Previously, at the invitation of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam sent a delegation of students to participate in the 2nd Turkmenistan Mathematical Olympiad. The competition took place from April 21 to 26 in the capital Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
The team was selected based on the results of the 2025 regional and international Olympic team selection exam to create conditions for excellent students to participate in international academic exchange activities, expand learning opportunities and improve their capacity, in addition to the official team participating in IMO. The Institute of Mathematics, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology was assigned by the Ministry of Education and Training to preside over the training and organization of the delegation to participate in the exam.
The contest aims to nurture students' talents and abilities, enhance friendship, develop progressive thinking and open-mindedness among young people. The contest has 15 participating countries, including some countries with good traditions in Mathematics such as China, Russia, Bulgaria, Türkiye.../.
