Specifically, in the “Trending Destinations” category of the Travelers' Choice Best of the Best 2024 awards, Ha Long Bay ranked 3rd. Last year, Ho Chi Minh City and Hoi An were also included in Tripadvisor's list of top trending destinations.
Regarding Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site, the world's largest travel guide platform writes: "Tourists should visit Ha Long Bay to get a close-up and visual look at the limestone islands, rock formations and stunning caves here. These wonders have undergone tectonic processes over many centuries."
Tripadvisor also suggests visitors rent a kayak or join a tour to explore the magnificent landscape here.
Meanwhile, “the colorful and charming northwestern market town of Sa Pa is the perfect oasis between strenuous mountain hikes or rugged rice terrace tours. The Gothic stone church in the town center is the center of attention for visitors, whose architecture was influenced by the French missionaries who once lived in the town. Alternatively, dine on Vietnamese- or European-inspired dishes in the town center and don’t miss the weekly Saturday night “love market,” Tripadvisor said.
The Travelers' Choice Best of the Best is an annual award presented by Tripadvisor to destinations whose hotels, restaurants, and activities have garnered the highest number of reviews and opinions from the community over a 12-month period, from October 1, 2022 to September 30, 2023. Less than 1% of Tripadvisor's 8 million listings are awarded a Best of the Best, which represents the highest level of excellence in travel.
This is not the first time Sa Pa and Ha Long Bay have been voted as international tourist destinations.
Recently, the Indian travel publication Times Travel honored the 50 most beautiful destinations in the world in 2024, including 3 Vietnamese destinations "on" this list: Sa Pa (Lao Cai province), Ha Long Bay (Quang Ninh province) and Hoi An (Quang Nam province)./.
