The presence of Ho Chi Minh City and Phu Quoc in the Top 10 cities and islands in Asia-Pacific is a true and convincing promotion of an attractive, friendly and constantly rising Vietnam on the international tourism map.
The attraction of Ho Chi Minh City tourism
In the T+L Luxury Awards Asia Pacific 2025 announced by the prestigious travel magazine Travel + Leisure in June 2025, Ho Chi Minh City was ranked 7th in the list of top 10 cities in the Asia-Pacific region.
Ho Chi Minh City is noted for its harmonious blend of history and modernity, tradition and innovation.
As the largest economic, cultural and tourist center in Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City is always an attractive destination for international tourists, with the appearance of a modern, vibrant city but still preserving many French architectural heritages such as: Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, City Post Office...
Public places such as Nguyen Hue Walking Street, Saigon River, art galleries, and live music venues create a vibrant, youthful cultural space that is always full of activities to keep visitors coming back.
The city's diverse cuisine also contributes to enhancing its cultural identity, impressing visitors, from rustic street foods such as broken rice, bread, and noodles... to restaurants "starred" in the famous Michelin culinary guide.
This place has an intersection between regions in the country, mixed with flavors and dishes from many countries around the world, creating a culinary city capable of meeting all the needs of diners.
Based on the culture and lifestyle of East Asia, Ho Chi Minh City also focuses on investing in infrastructure to enhance the experience for tourists. The first metro line officially put into operation from the end of 2024 is a big step forward in urban transportation, making it more convenient for tourists to explore the city.

Along with that, the Tan Son Nhat airport expansion project with the new T3 terminal and the rapid development of the high-end hotel and resort system have improved the quality of service and accommodation experience.
With a diverse tourism ecosystem, Ho Chi Minh City attracts all groups of people - from those who love to learn about culture, history, cuisine, to tourists looking for convenience and modernity.
According to the world's leading online travel platform TripAdvisor, this is one of the largest and busiest cities in Vietnam, with the role of a major cultural and economic center of the country. Visitors can walk or experience riding a motorbike or taxi to explore this charming city, as well as feel the harmony between the past and the present.
According to statistics from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, in the first quarter of 2025, the city welcomed more than 1.63 million international visitors, an increase of 18.2% over the same period in 2024. Total revenue from tourism reached more than VND 56,600 billion, an increase of 26.7%.
Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Nguyen Trung Khanh assessed that Ho Chi Minh City has always been a bright spot in tourism development, from building diverse and unique tourism products to effectively promoting its image to international friends.
Tourism products such as MICE tourism, cultural-historical tourism, waterway tourism, medical tourism, and culinary tourism continue to create appeal and attract many domestic and foreign tourists; contributing significantly to increasing tourists' spending and extending their length of stay - important indicators in the process of sustainable tourism development.
Phu Quoc Island reaches international level
Ranked 3rd in the top 10 best islands in the region at the T+L Luxury Awards Asia Pacific 2025, Phu Quoc once again affirmed its special attraction to international tourists thanks to its pristine landscape, luxurious resort space and preserved local cultural identity.
Located in the Gulf of Thailand, Phu Quoc Island has a long coastline, fine white sand, clear blue water and a diverse coral reef ecosystem. Famous beaches such as Sao Beach, Khem Beach, Ganh Dau area... have a peaceful beauty, an ideal choice for any vacation.
Visitors can experience marine sports activities such as scuba diving, kayaking, jet skiing, paragliding, combining nature exploration and enjoying high-quality services.

In recent times, Phu Quoc has made a strong transformation in developing high-end resort tourism, attracting a series of international brands such as: JW Marriott, New World, Regent, InterContinental, Pullman... creating a luxurious accommodation ecosystem.
The resorts not only provide professional services, but also blend harmoniously with nature, preserving the airy, pristine feeling inherent in the island. Phu Quoc International Airport system conveniently connects with many countries in the region, while a series of tourism and service projects are being invested in preparation for international events, especially the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum APEC 2027.
It is worth noting that, despite the strong development of tourism, Phu Quoc still retains its rustic beauty and indigenous cultural values. Tourists can visit Ham Ninh fishing village, stroll in the green pepper gardens, learn about the traditional fish sauce making process, enjoy fresh seafood or simply experience the simple life of the local people.
The harmonious combination of beautiful nature, high-class services and local identity has helped Phu Quoc continuously affirm its position on the international tourism map. This island is becoming a new symbol for the trend of green tourism, quality resorts and sophisticated cultural exploration in Asia-Pacific.
Forbes magazine hailed it as one of the “6 most luxurious off-the-beaten-path destinations of 2025” with “seemingly endless coastlines, breathtakingly clear waters and breathtaking sunsets.”
CNA (Channel NewsAsia) also ranked Phu Quoc 7th in the list of "25 most worth-visiting destinations in 2025."

In 2024, in the list of 25 most beautiful islands and archipelagos in the world announced by Travel + Leisure magazine, Phu Quoc ranked second with a total score of 94.41/100 after Maldives (Portugal).
According to statistics from the Department of Tourism of Kien Giang province, in the first 6 months of 2025, Phu Quoc welcomed more than 4.4 million tourists, an increase of 33.3% over the same period last year; of which international visitors reached nearly 882,000, an increase of 76.7%. Total revenue from tourism reached about 21,588 billion VND, an increase of nearly 93% - a positive result showing the sustainable development potential of the locality.
The presence of Ho Chi Minh City and Phu Quoc in the Asia-Pacific luxury tourism rankings in 2025 is not only a source of pride, but also a testament to the new resilience of Vietnamese tourism.
A modern, vibrant city with cultural depth; an island rich in identity, rising strongly on the international resort map, Ho Chi Minh City and Phu Quoc are two indispensable destinations for international tourists in their journey to explore Asia in general and Vietnam in particular.
