At the meeting with the President of the Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Association, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized that Vietnam always considers Cambodia's achievements as a great source of encouragement for Vietnam.
According to the special correspondent of the Vietnam News Agency, within the framework of his working trip to Cambodia, on the morning of November 23, in the capital Phnom Penh, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man received Supreme Advisor to the King of Cambodia, Vice President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), President of the Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Association, and President of the Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians' Group Samdech Men Sam An.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man expressed his pleasure at meeting Samdech Men Sam An, a close friend of the Vietnamese people; said that this was his first official visit to Cambodia as Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly; and conveyed greetings and best wishes of health from General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien to Samdech Men Sam An.
The National Assembly Chairman affirmed the consistent policy of the Party and State of Vietnam to always attach importance to and give high priority to consolidating and enhancing the good neighborly relations, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability between Vietnam and Cambodia, for the benefit of the people of the two countries, for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world. Vietnam always considers Cambodia's achievements as a great source of encouragement for Vietnam and also Vietnam's own achievements.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man stated that Vietnam and Cambodia are two neighboring countries close geographically and have many similarities in culture and history. The two parties share the same origin as the Indochinese Communist Party, and have stood shoulder to shoulder against the common enemy to liberate the nation, unify the country, as well as in the cause of national construction, defense and development.
The National Assembly Chairman congratulated the great and comprehensive achievements that Cambodia has made in recent times, especially in 2024 under the reign of King Norodom Sihamoni, the leadership of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), the Senate, the National Assembly and the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that he had a very successful meeting with National Assembly Chairman Samdech Khuon Sudary on the afternoon of November 21; the two National Assembly Chairmen inaugurated the Cambodian National Assembly Administrative Building - a symbol of the traditional solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia; and thanked Cambodia for awarding the Grand Cross of Merit to the National Assembly Chairman.
The National Assembly Chairman also said that at meetings with President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), President of the Cambodian Senate Samdech Techo Hun Sen; Prime Minister Samdech Hun Manet, the two sides discussed and reviewed agreements signed in the past in the fields of economy, culture, science-technology, investment... to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the coming time.
Emphasizing that the potential between the two sides is still very large, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man suggested that the two countries continue to strengthen cooperation in all fields, especially in economics and trade; and asked the Cambodian side to continue paying attention and creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to invest in Cambodia.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man highly appreciated the role of Samdech Men Sam An, who, regardless of his position, has made many important contributions to fostering and consolidating the friendship and solidarity between the people of the two countries.
The National Assembly Chairman hopes that with his deep affection for the country and people of Vietnam, Samdech Men Sam An will continue to make positive contributions to promoting the friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
The Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Association and the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association will strengthen education and propaganda work so that people of all walks of life, especially the younger generation, can have a deeper understanding of the meaning and importance as well as clearly see their responsibility in preserving and further cultivating the relationship between the two countries; continue to expand the "Nurturing Friendship" movement that the two associations have implemented in recent times.
In addition, the two sides continue to pay attention to and support solutions to remove difficulties for people of Vietnamese origin in Cambodia, helping them stabilize their lives, integrate into the local community, and act as a bridge of friendship between the two countries; and support and facilitate Vietnamese investors and businesses doing business in Cambodia.
President of the Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Association Samdech Men Sam An warmly welcomed National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the high-ranking delegation of the Party and State of Vietnam to their official visit to Cambodia, to attend two important conferences hosted by Cambodia and to attend the inauguration ceremony of the Cambodian National Assembly Administrative Building - a symbol of the lasting solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia.
Samdech Men Sam An agreed with the assessments of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man on the good relationship between the two countries; congratulated National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man on his very successful talks with National Assembly Chairman Samdech Khuon Sudary; met with President of the Cambodian People's Party, President of the Senate Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister Samdech Hun Manet; believed that the substantive and effective exchanges would contribute to further strengthening the special solidarity and friendship between Cambodia and Vietnam; especially not allowing any hostile forces to divide the good relationship between the two countries.
Samdech Men Sam An affirmed that over the past 57 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the Party, State and people of Cambodia have never forgotten Vietnam's wholehearted and sincere assistance in the past and present; emphasizing that they will promote the existing cooperation potential between the two sides in the spirit agreed upon by the two countries' senior leaders.
President of the Samdech Men Sam An Friendship Association also thanked the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association for supporting Cambodian students studying in Vietnam.
Sharing about some activities of the Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Association, Samdech Men Sam An emphasized that in the coming time, the Association will operate effectively, contribute positively to the country's development and be a bridge connecting the good neighborly relationship, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability between Vietnam and Cambodia.
