On March 18, the Embassy of Mongolia in Vietnam held a ceremony to celebrate the 103rd anniversary of the founding of the Armed Forces (March 18, 1921 - March 18, 2024).
Speaking at the ceremony, Mongolian Ambassador to Vietnam Jigjee Sereejav said that in 2024, Mongolia and Vietnam will celebrate the 70th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations. The traditional friendship between the two countries, based on the spirit of understanding, friendship, and mutual assistance in difficult times, has continuously developed and succeeded over the past 70 years.
2023 is a special year in the cooperation between the two countries, when Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh paid a state visit to Vietnam and the two countries are currently making efforts to upgrade bilateral cooperation.
Over the past two years, economic and trade cooperation between Mongolia and Vietnam has increased and there is still much potential to promote bilateral cooperation in the coming time.
According to Major General Vu Thanh Van, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of National Defense , Vietnam and Mongolia have a traditional, long-standing friendship and in recent years, on the basis of trust, understanding and mutual support, the relationship between the two countries is in the best stage of development, achieving many new developments.
The 70th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Mongolia diplomatic relations is an important event in bilateral relations, marking the development of the long-standing traditional friendship with many achievements in cooperation between the two sides in many fields, including defense cooperation.
Over the past time, on the basis of the good relationship between the two countries, the Vietnam-Mongolia defense cooperation has achieved steady development steps.
In 2019, the two countries' Ministries of Defense signed an Agreement between the Governments of Vietnam and Mongolia on cooperation in the field of defense to guide the promotion of cooperation contents to new heights.
Since then, the two sides have actively promoted cooperation in the fields of delegation exchanges at all levels, defense industry, training, United Nations peacekeeping, etc., increasingly in-depth, substantive and effective.
“We believe that, with the foundation of the good traditional friendship between Vietnam and Mongolia, bilateral defense cooperation in the coming time will continue to develop well, meeting the aspirations and interests of the people of the two countries, and making positive contributions to the Vietnam-Mongolia relationship,” said Major General Vu Thanh Van./.
